Very friendly and helpful staff. Hostel is close to the city center. It has a thermal pool . Everything was excellent. Recommended

A little bit out of town and not enough plugs in room but very clean and tidy.

Loved my stay here, the staff were SO friendly and helpful. Nice pools to use and lovely big clean kitchen. Unlimited free wifi always goes down well as well! Rooms were clean and spacious. I would reccomend a stay here :)

The staff here were incredible. Very friendly and spent ages with us figuring out the best way for us to do all the tours we wanted for the best price. They recommended the evening program at Tamaki Maori village which was a highlight of the trip so far! The hostel is close to grocery stores but there were limited plates, cups, etc when preparing your own food. Wifi was free but didn't work in the rooms.

We expected a restaurant and so were disappointed. The kitchen looked great but was not maintained enough. There were no plugs in the sink so water was wasted. There were no dish cloths or cloths to wipe the surfaces so the tea towels were used and so there never any dry tea towels to dry the dishes. No teaspoons or small sharp knives to cut vegetables

This is a great hostel ! The staff were amazing - genuinely friendly and helpful and available at all times. The room was big and a good value. It's within walking distance of downtown , and situated along a road with many other hotels making it feel safe. The pool and grill areas are nice as is the large indoor common rooms. Definitely recommend.

The smell from the sulphur fumaroles was intense when we were there, and this meant we couldn't have any windows open, this plus no air-conditioning and high temperatures made it extremely unpleasant the first night. Luckily we were so tired the second night having had little sleep on the first, and the pong not quite so bad we slept better, but the smell was still horrible.

Really liked it! Both dorms and common rooms felt clean and spacious. Got some vouchers from the staff when we went to Te Puia the day after.

Everything looked a bit outdated and the beds/bathroom were not very clean.

We stayed here for one night, a group of us in a 4 bed room with an ensuite bathroom. You can't ignore the smell of the city of Rotura, but honestly we were surprised that this was the top rated Hostel in Rotorua. PROS: They have a nice TV room with a big TV and about 100 movies you can rent from, as well as free unlimited Wifi. CONS: You have to go down to the front desk every 4 hours to get a new Wifi code to sign on to the Wifi, and even then, it was hard to connect a lot of the time.

Kitchen is nice and clean. Beds were not very clean - hairs and stains on the sheets. Outside the kitchen it looks like a large hotel, there is no hostel atmosphere and the rooms are not cozy.

It's not downtown, but a close walk. Very friendly staff.

The only negative was people coming back early hours of the morning knocking on doors. Otherwise great value for money, clean

The hostel is a little off-site and is obviously a former Motel. There is not much going on in there and around, but the staff was great and I booked a bed in a 6-bed dorm, but as there were only few other guests, I ended in a room all for myself. Thus, great value for your money, free wi-fi, but not the place to stay for party crawlers.
