Great Hostel Overall! Staff seemed secluded and not very open to questions. Great idea with the bar and restaurant.

It seems one of few options in Gent. It appeared to act more like a school camp place than a hostel. No real atmosphere. The price is high compared to other hostels in say a town like Brugge, as they are the only ones. Rooms was clean.

The hostel was in a decent part of town, only about three minutes from public transit and not too far from the city center. We ended up coming home very late and were disappointed to find that the luggage room was locked at 1. While I understand the reasons for that, it was still inconvenient. The hostel breakfast was amazing and almost all organic. Normally I don't expect much, but this was on par with a hotel breakfast. Overall, very happy.

Hello, Thanks for leaving us such a nice comment ! We're really happy you liked our hostel ! It's true we're 2 minutes walking from the metro station, and 15 minutes walking from the city center. The luggage room is closed at 10pm, but you can ask the bartender or my colleague working in the night to open it for you. We wish you the best within the HI community. Best regards, Agathe

24 year old female traveling alone - stayed in 6 bed female. Staff were SO helpful and friendly. Everything was very clean. Location was a bit further from the city, but still walkable. Only disappointment was that there was no toilet in the room - showers, but no toilet. Would highly recommend this hostel!

The place is well run with a good breakfast. It is very functional, but a bit expensive for a single room, more than some hotels in fact, as I had to pay price per bed, as there were two beds in the room, I needed to pay for both! I know that for hygiene sake they need to have these plastic covers on the mattress, but I do not find them very comfortable. Staff were fabulous! There was very safe storage for my bike while there, and my bike box while I was cycling around Belgium.

Hello, Thanks for your comment, we're happy you liked our hostels. It's true that single room is almost the same price than an hotel, but in youth hostels we're thinking by beds ... and dorms ! We only have one single room, and of course if you want to be alone in a room you'll have to pay all his beds. We wish you great dicoveries while travelling within HI hostels ! Best regards, Agathe

I really liked the hostel, good place, GREAT BREAKFAST, clean rooms and showers (well, mine was inside the room). Ppl at the reception and the bar were really nice. The only thing I'd say I did not like was the food in the bar, doesn't have too much options, and, I'll add a towel for the floor next to the shower.

Hello, Thanks for your comment. We're happy you liked our organic breakfast made with local products. There'sa bathroom in every room, and there must be a towel on the floor ... maybe a mistake from us ! We added a new "formule" in the bar : the daily plate . We wish you great experiences within HI hostels. Best regards, Agathe

It is a youth hostel so if you are looking to party.. it may not be the place for you bar closed at 1pm on a saturday night. It provides a quiet good spot to sleep... We weren't pleased that the bar closed that early, but that is the only negative thing i'd say about this place

Hi! Thank you for you comment. We would love to close later as there is always a good atmosphere in the bar. Unfortunately, due to its central location we have to respect the neighbours. The bar is always a great place to start as there are many great bars and clubs in Brussels :) We hope to see you again. Cleo

So perfect place for passing a days in the city or making tourism. Centric place, near of all. The building is new, the personal very pleasant, room and bathroom clean and the breakfast very good. I recommend this hostel for pass your days. If you like the Chinese food, in Rue du Midi 40 you can eat so much for little money. Greetings for Canary Island

Water was too hot, impossible to take a shower. Only the bathroom's switch plug worked, and only with the light turned on.

One of the best hostels I've ever been to. Atmosphere of REAL HOSTEl. Breakfast is much better than in many expensive hotels. Staff is professional and ready to help you. It is not far from subway, but considering Brussels size, you can reach the downtown in 15 minutes or some by walking.

Hi! We are so glad you had a good time. We try to make the breakfast as diverse as possible and most of it is organic. The great atmosphere at the bar is one of our highlights. We try to organize as many things as possible (karaoke nights, concerts, etc). We hope to see you soon! Cleo

This was a great hostel. Rooms and bathrooms were clean (I stayed in a four bed room) and spacious. I only stayed there one night (they didn't have space for my other nights) but it was right on the metro so convenient to get to sights in the city. They have a large, cafeteria style breakfast and a bar downstairs. Good value for money. I would stay there again for sure. Worth noting: if you don't have a Hostel International card you pay an extra 3 euros.

Staff was helpful on checkin. However the reception is only open at 8am and we had to rush to catch our intercity train at 9. Thank god the reception opened a bit earlier than the time stated so we managed to check out and got to our train even earlier than planned. The breakfast was nice however i would appreciate if you could label the food. Im a muslim and I almost had the ham luckily my friend came and told me since he had some already.

Staff was friendly, met some interesting people but I was there only for a couple of hours so I didn't have the chance to see much/interact with many people. Good hostel, though. I would totally recommend it/go back!
