Goodbye Lenin Zakopane is really the place to stay! Wonderful setting in nature, still not far from the center (4km), and above everything, wonderful staff (Stan, Dave & Agniezska) and nice atmosphere! Of over 100 hostels that I ever stayed in, definitely one of the best! Will be back soon! Ernie

Of all the hostels I've ever stayed in, this one was by far the best!!! If the hostel has a good few people staying there, it won't be beaten for armosphere. Qualified ski and snowboard instructors work at reception and Dave, the snowboard guy was brilliant for getting you started. I'm definitely going to be back next january!

I ventured of to Zakopane for some skiing!!! So cheap by the way, The manager Stan was amazing he went out of his way to cater for our every need even if that need was to drop us to a bar 40 mins away to meet some ladies we met on the slope. The hostel is on the outskirts of town, however i was there for skiing so it was perfect to come home buggered, have a few Beers and play some poker with other guests and staff. highly recommend this hostel to anyone intersted in a relaxing time away.

The far flung location, while inconvenient, allows you to enjoy the blissful serenity of Zakopane. Staying in a traditional Zakopane wooden house is an experience not to be missed. The staff is very helpful, and you can rent your ski gear at affordable rates there as well.

The best thing about this hostel is that if you are into winter sports, they have all the equipment. The welcome shot is pretty sweet. Staff is also really nice, we BBQed and also went snowboarding together. There is a PC in the common room with loads of music and movies. Great atmosphere. The buses in Zakapane are not that reliable though.

It feels a bit weird to review this place as it felt like home. We were here for six nights and it wasn't long enough, I miss it! We were here for snowboarding and couldn't have chosen a better place as the guys helped us out with everything from board hire to driving us to the slopes and helping us to buy lift passes (it was very quiet when we were there so not sure if you could expect this mid season but the staff do go out of their way for you) The best location, so pretty.

Difficult to find. The GPS took us to the wrong street. The staff were friendly and gave great suggestions on local finds. How can you beat a place with welcome and goodbye vodka shots :)

What a great place to stay! I had a private room and it was lovely, very clean and comfortable. And from what I could see the dorms were likewise. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend Good Bye Lenin Zakopane to anyone visiting this beautiful area..In fact, it was the best place I stayed on my trip to Europe and by far the best value.

What lovely people, what a lovely place. How nice it was to wake up in the mountains and have the friendly staff wish you a good morning. Was personable, cosy and comfortable. A definite highlight of my trip.

Loved this place! The staff were great, the place was very clean and comfortable and had personality. Although a bit of a walk from town, it was in the woods and you really got that cabin feel. People were very friendly and breakfast was included. I would love to come back here!

Friendly, multi-lingual staff with a superb knowledge of local hiking trails. Location conveniently close to Zakopane but situated so that you don't have to walk through town or cross any busy roads on your way to the forests and mountains. The staff had a BBQ every night, and there is a vast amount of films and music to keep you occupied of an evening, with cold beers on sale at reception. Easily the best hostel I stayed in during my fortnight in Poland, and I would recommend it to anyone!

Even though this hostel is a bit of a trek out of town.. which is a pain if you just need to do some grocery shopping but it is so nice and tranquil that it makes up for it. It is such a beautiful typical wooden polish house that you really feel at home. Another must is to watch Into the Wild and in the summer to hire a bike and cycle up the HUGE hills because the view is worth the pain.

This place has as really fantastic vibe to it, it's smaller enough to make you feel at home but there is always plenty of people around, so it's great for solo travellers like myself. The only downside is the location, it's great to be away from the very touristy parts of Zakopane but it is also a bit of a pain in the butt to get into town if you need to. But aside from that I will always recommend this place to fellow travellers, and the staff are fantastic and always very helpful!

One of the best hostels we've stayed in. Set outside of town (which isn't a problem and is in fact preferable) near the woods and the entrance to the Tatras NP. Great, friendly staff and comfortable beds and social area.

Nice vibe and very pretty surroundings :o) Staff were really friendly and very helpful. U Unfortunately there were no lockers and no keys were provided as the room was "always open". Also, although the surroundings are pretty the hostel is out on it's own and about a 20 minute walk from the National Park entrance. It's not very safe or practical for female travellers on their own.
