Awesome little hostel! Hard to find at night, but otherwise it was great. No one spoke Polish while I was there, because it was full of foreigners traveling through Europe (backpacking, cycling, etc). There was a really nice community atmosphere and everyone was just happy to be together.
Definitely recommend this hostel! The hostel itself if small and cozy so it's easy to meet people, and with breakfast is great value for money! Staff brilliant! Had a great time should have stayed longer
Location is excellent except getting there from the bus station can be a bit of a challenge

Very cosy and cute!!! Great stay for the mountains, staff were helpful and really friendly.
Great hostel bit beds were very small and not to comfcomfortable and after a full day of hiking you need a decent bed. The breakfast is goo but nothing special. Some staff were very helpful and others not so much
Hostel is located near the beginning of the park, so great if your going hiking, but it is a ling ways outside the center of Zakopane. On their page it sais it takes 30 minutes to walk, but it is more like 50. On the other hand you can get food at a mini mart close by the hostel and just stay there instead :) staff were friendly and helpfull with finding the right trails to hike. Rooms, commonarea and kitchen are very small and get cramped when everyone is there, but also kind of cozy.
GBL is my favourite hostel ever. The staff are friendly and helpul, and the location makes it a perfect jumping off point for doing some of the best hikes, without having to deal with the crowded town centre.
Great place to relax after a day of hiking and meet other people taking time for hikes.
Overall a good hostel (more of a B&B kind of vibe as quite small), and perfect for breaking up your trip between the bigger cities. Is a bit outside of the center of town, and once you get to the hostel I doubt you will bother visiting the town.
If you go to hiking, this Hostel is for you. The tourist trail is beginning just across the street. It's full of enthuasismed people all over the world who can share their hiking experinces, so the staff which is very helpful. And you can wash your cloths in a washing machine for 10 Zl. Chillfull place, absolutely recommended.
The owner (can't remember her name) was really nice! Although, we are not that advanced hikers/climbers, she really helped us with choosing the right tracks and make the most out of our days. This place is definitely a chill-out and good hidden place in touristic Zakopane. Would stay here again!
Over all exactly what we were after, quiet away from the centre but within walking distance, great access to Tatra National Park. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable about locale. Only let down by a couple of small issues with house keeping/ maintenance.
We had a great time at GBL and again the staff and the other people who stayed there was the star. Only annoying thing was a traveller who thought it was ok to use his iPad until 02.00 at the dorm dispite asking him to shut it off. If GBL want to be even better, please fix the door to the bath room at 2nd floor and make it possible to put the shower head on the wall on the 1st floor :)
Directions aren't completely clear if you have never been to Zakopane before. Staff didn't seem very engaged. So much mould in the showers. Easy access to the trails.
Location and type of building gives great atmosphere. Easy access especially to Tatra Mountain gate.
Overall a great experience. Despite a significant age difference I met the greatest people and had a blast.
wonderful hostel, great starting point for hiking!
Lovely group of people when I stayed here, wifi worked well, great hiking, cozy living room and nice patio.
Great location, away from the crowded city center. If you are hiking this hostel is perfect for you : there is an entrance to the national park just across the road and lots of other hikers to talk to at night. We had trouble to get around with the buses at first... Actually it is easy if you ask the drivers where to go (with the good polish pronunciation ah ah !).
Positive: This is probably my favourite hostel to date and would happily go back. It's in a great location and the staff are really helpful in recommending things to do and how to do them. This is most definitely not a party hostel, but a relaxed chilled social home like place. And there was also a really friendly resident cat. Negative: A bigger kitchen area would be very useful, as it was very small for the number of people. And more showers/WC's.
