Staff in particular was very helpful and spoke great English.
This is simply a great hostel. Cheap, friendly staff, good food, good location, good WIFI, etc... The only improvement they need are the beds in the dorms. They make a lot of noise when you move. Besides that: top choice!
We enjoyed our stay at Green Forest. It was in a good location, had good facilities, comfortable beds, helpful staff and plenty of tour options. We'd definitely recommend it.
Lovely place is a great location. Got a room upgrade and the place had a huge window and was super comfy bed. Free laundry, food is a little bit pricey - you're paying the tourist price. I didn't try it but I'm sure it would taste good. They have good value tours and helpful staff. Easy to recommend this place
Fantastic people and hostel facilities. Thanks for the included water and laundry.
Nice place to stay in Guilin with very friendly and helpful staff who taught us how to play the Mahjong which was good fun. Also, nice cozy common area where you can meet other travellers. Would stay here again.
This was the best hostel we stayed in on our trip to Beijing, Chengdu, Guilin and Yangshuo. The staff are friendly and speak good english. The room was lovely with a nice view of the river. It is a pity that we could only stay here for 1 night. We took one of their day tours to bamboo rafting and got dropped off in Yangshuo.

it was great hostel! a very relaxed place and the people were very helpfull. the beds were nice and soft, the room was spacious and the bathroom was so clean! the food is farely cheap compared to other hostels.
Had a brilliant stay here. The staff were friendly and always willing to help. Our room was big and clean. The noise of the KTV singers was loud but they stop quite early and we were usually out late so they never bothered us. It's location is great and we were able to walk everywhere or get the bus from the station across the road. The Li River Bamboo raft tour they organise was great too.
Great place to stay. Nice big bunk beds Close to everything, train and bus station and sights.
Excellent location n easy to find from the bus station.. Within walking distance to eating places , shopping and nearby elephant tusk hill n twin pagoda. Strongly recommend. Only complaint is taxi to airport came 30 minutes late but not the hostel's fault.
Is a great hostel. Just a comment, there's AC in the dorms, which is great; but some people use in a crazy way, like putting 18 degrees or leaving it working all the night, which is not really comfortable for everybody.
I stayed in this hostel in both a double and a dorm. Paying extra for the double is DEFINITELY worth it- our bed was huge and extremely comfortable and our room had a large window overlooking the lake (albeit the single pane windows made the room a bit noisy). The double was pretty basic: clean but dark and dingy. The common room is great and so is the food; drinks are very decently priced and they have a cat! The staff was great and speaks perfect English. One of my favorite hostels ever.
Very well located hostel with great staff and great value for money. Very clean, very laid back. Come here if you like cats!
Unfortunately, I did not have a great stay here. There is a KTV bar beneath the hostel and I was unable to sleep much at all while I was there. I booked a boat ride in advance and they changed the price the morning I was to leave when I didn't have any option to look elsewhere. The boat left an hour late and was two hours shorter than they advertized. The cleanliness of the bathroom left a lot to be desired, common to that type of bathroom but still unpleasant.
Hi. We've stayed at different hostels at Guilin, but must say, Green Forest was the best one if you are looking for a cozy, nice little place, perfectly located. The staff are amasing. We've taken a trip to Longji terraces booked from hostel, and must say, resulted amazing for a cost practically the same, as if we would have done it by ourselves, but less stressful. Dont know about other tours, but suppose is the same. All and all, thank you guys, the stay was amazing
This hostel was clean, cheap, and charming but the bathroom left something to be desired. I would recommend.
We only stayed one night, got to Guilin at 8 in the morning and couldnt get the room until at 13 but they were able to store our luggage until then. The room was nice. Location good, a short walking distance to the river and the night market. Staff were helpful and spoke english.
Very good location, and comfortable lobby! The only thing to improve is wifi !!
Cosy place with very helpful and nice staff. They offer or organise tours to the Longji rice terraces and the Li river for reasonable prices and give a lot of tips for sightseeing in and around Guilin. Internet was very slow though.
