The rooms are very small. The hallway outside our room was the kitchen, it was difficult to enter our room if someone was in the kitchen. We were woken during the night by guests using the kitchen. There was no contact with the staff, very unfriendly place.

Like the location, very near to the Taiwan Main Station, room are small but no complain for the tariff you paid for, staff not too well verse with Mandarin so is quite difficult to get proper informations/tips/suggestions/advises. Lobby is small to hang about.

Definitely no "vibe" in the hostel so if you're looking for a fun "backpacker" place, this is not it. Staff wasn't very helpful - had to ask about everything - offered no information when checking in. Overall, it's fine if you're just looking for a place to sleep (although not the cleanest, it was OK) and you're pretty self-sufficient.

I didn't remember exactly how much I was supposed to pay at the hostel (according to the email sent to me), but instead of TWD4050, the owners charged us TWD4500. The difference isn't huge but this is still cheating. The staff and owners could hardly speak English so communication was a tad of an issue. Cleaning wasn't done every other day, let alone every day. Yuck. There were mosquitoes even though the place was on the 9/F!

The staff was extremely unprofessional and nearly impossible to communicate with. They were never at the front desk, and even when I called they didn't answer the phone. When I first arrived, they didn't have a record of my reservation, even though I had received confirmation from hostelworld.com and my credit card had already been charged.

While the hostel is in a great location, easy to find and kept clean, the rooms are VERY small (smaller even than what I am used to in Japan) the beds are very hard - like sleeping on the floor, and the whole venue, especially the rooms, is very hot and stuffy. Perhaps some more comfortable seating in the common area would be nice too. But over all good value for money, although I wouldn't recommend sleeping on those beds for too many nights.

The staff is really helpful and nice. You can even call them when you are out so they speak to taxi drivers or give you tips on what to do. The rooms are very clean which makes it a very comfortable place to stay. It is what i call a lot of value for a small price!

It's terrible.Because I paid for femail room.It was more expensive than mixed room.But one couple stayed my room with male. And the manager said 'I can't help. Because other rooms are full.'. The situation was nonsense. I paid more for femail room. I don't want to recommand the hostel.

Good location but rooms are tiny!! You can probably find something better.

This is my forth time to s1tay at Taiwanmex ! No doubt the location is perfect and the price is really cheap ! The place is clean and also quiet enough for rest ! Pity that couldny meet Magos this time ~

We stayed 5 nights in what they call a family house. It consists of one double bed and 2 bunk beds. A fridge, AC, computer with internet, private bathroom and even a small washing machine. We were, it was like a private flat, very clean. It was literally 30 seconds from a metro and 5 minutes from the main station where the train take off. After that we stayed 5 days in a double room in a more traditionnal hostel. Best hostel for the price we saw in Taiwan.

The double deck bed is not safety for upper user and the broken cupboard.
