We booked beds for 6. We were the first to check in, but we were 1/2 hour early. We went for a walk to the wharf. When we returned, the other 2 persons must have thought they had the room to themselves, as they were spread out all over; they had to clean off bunks, so we could sleep. They took up more room and floor space than the 6 of us combined. An older lady in our room left twice during the night and propped the door. I closed it and she used her card to get back in.

I was in a room of 12. I booked only for 3 people. I know you have rooms for 4. I would have appreciated if you could have given us a smaller room, because, 12 is a lot. In general I think you should propose smaller rooms (6 max for example)

This is by far the best hostel in San Francisco and even a stay in the dorms was better than some hotels. This hostel goes out of its way to cater to hostelers- free healthy breakfast, a cafe that's open all day, movie nights with theater seating and free popcorn, lots of recreation activities at no extra charge and a great atmosphere all around!

I didn't get to stay at the Fisherman's Wharf Hostel, after all - the only way I could send you this message was to answer the survey. I have stayed there before, and always love to do so. Best wishes, Jennifer Wagner

It wasn't bad. The location was nice and the staff was helpful. We stayed in a private room and it wasn't that clean and either was the bathroom. It would be nice to be able to use the wifi outside of the common room as well.

Beware! This place has bed bugs. I stayed there for three nights in January 2013 and got attacked by bed bugs.

All around good! No heating in winter. Spent 3 nights here. People are friendly. Located in port mason, making it easy to sea the ocean. The only bus that arrives there is no. 30, which is the only thing I don't really like

The location was excellent, Fort Mason and the area around it is very nice and it's great to watch the sun set over the golden gate bridge. The staff were very helpful and I thought the common room was very good, I was able to meet a couple of other solo travellers. I appreciated the free breakfast.

nice location near Fisherman's Wharf, but the hostel itself is not really good. the neighbourhood didnt feel too safe during the night, the showers are a disaster (they dont even have doors, only curtains?!?!), breakfast is limited to one bagel, the sheets and towels were not really clean, the wi-fi only worked in the common area. i guess its OK if you only need a bed, but I'm pretty sure you can find a better hostel in SF for a similar price.
