This place is perfectly acceptable if nothing special. I stayed in dorm which was a little small but if you don't mind roughing it it's the best cheap place you'll find in Harbin

taking taxi in a rush hour was a bad experience to the hostel. everything in this hostel is much better than I lived before. the reference room ( lobby) is the biggest one I have seen. I will come again if have been Harbin next time.

Like many hostels in China, they advertise WiFi, but there is no signal in the rooms- only on the first floor. We stayed in an 8-person dormitory. There are no lockable cabinets or storage lockers to put your valuables. Antone could have taken anyone's things- if they were so inclined. The dormitory beds are the cheapest, most flimsy aluminum beds that you can buy. If I tried to climb into my top bunk, the whole bed tipped over. Someone had to sit on the bottom bunk so that I could get in.

stayed 3 nights at the Harbin Russia in mid-February (peak of Ice Festival and COLD!) altho i am writing this review 1st April, so i have been reading some of the previous reviews to jolt my memory: 1) staff are not rude, just not super jovial cuz they dont need to sell tours. 2) bathroom area smells just a little, but nothing to scream about 3) yes, notice board is real handy 4) NO cockroaches in winter! dont believe this reviewer. 5) bed frames are OK 6) dorms and lounge area warm. I have never seen more cockroaches in my life. I actually had them hop out of my suitcase at the next place I stayed. Indifferent staff. Seem put out with customers. They had a manky cat that you could see the fleas buzzing around it. I was bitten by fleas when I in a chair unbeknownest the chair the cat was sitting in. The sewer smell is normal around those parts as they haven't invented the P trap so I am not creeped out by that. There is no excuse for the complete filth. Will not stay here.

Booked 3 bed private room. A bit expensive than other hostels but went there during the Ice and Snow Festival so I guess it was to be expected. The room was clean enough but the shower hot water is timed but just wait around 10 minutes and you will get hot water again. I expected the smell of the public toilet to be really bad from all the reviews but it wasn't that bad. The staff is friendly and can speak enough English to help out foreigners.

A nice international hostel with good staff and a great location. Easily walkable to the shopping main street, the big onion-dome church, and Stalin park.

Smelled strange, but was warm with friendly-enough staff. Just a quick walk into the main strip.

We arrived late and the reception stayed up for us. Kitchen is almost non existance. Our room however was nice and clean. Ensuite toilet and bathroom was enough for 1 person only. overall not too bad a place to stay... Good part is that they have a full wall of information posted for you to get to all major tourist places. Quite a good and detail write up.

Adequate place to stay price was reasonable. Staff were OK but not exactly helpful and facilities were somewhat lacking.

Worst place EVER 1.Incompetent staff. Made up stuff when unsure about smtg & directions always wrong. Luckily we speak Chinese, we had to ask street cleaners how to get places 2.Beds=terrible. Slept on floor=more comfortable. Hardly light in room/WC 3.It's winter, we were sweating in our sleep 4.First floor bathroom could use a bleach scrubbing, to not smell the entire building 5.No phone number online 6.No trash pick up Good: Clean sheets, location, big rooms & WC. management change=good

I don't always remember to ask whether such amenities as towels, soaps or electric kettles, etc. are provided. So, it would have been helpful if that information had been included in the general description of the hostel's services and facilities. I would also recommend rubber mats, rather than bath towels, on the floor in the lobby. They are much safer, easier to clean and last much longer. The staff was very polite, friendly and helpful. I would consider staying there again.

Overall a good average hostel. Not much to especially talk about., neither good nor bad. Don't expect too much. Harbin is not worth sightseeing longer than a weekend anyways.

After reading all the reviews about the hostel's poor smell, I was prepared for the worst. But it really wasn't that bad. Good location, helpful if somewhat quiet staff, I didn't have much to complain about. My only moment of real discomfort was that the room was heated to the point where I was sweating even just sitting in a t-shirt and jeans! Hard to sleep in that kind of heat.

The rooms were clean and comfortable. We were there during the Ice Festival and there were no problems being too cold at night. It doesn't have any bar or restaurant in the hostel itself, but it's in a great location and there are plenty of sights and food options within walking distance. The staff was also very friendly and helpful.

This place is a bed and a roof over your head, and nothing more. Bed frames squeak and floors creak. Showers stink and staff are rude. Internet connection sucks. But its super warm, I met some cool people and yeah. Dont expect much in Harbin.

More like a hotel! Staff behind the desk are rude and when you ask them something it's like your asking them to break their neck! The woman who works there is nice and helpful tho! Poor wifi, they don't even supply toilet paper! way over priced but the rooms them selfs are good. Not many options in Harbin for hostels tho..
