Heart of Gold Hostel is located just off Friedrichstrasse, a short walk to Alexanderplatz, Museum Island, Brandenburg Gate and the Bundestag. This hostel has spacious and clean rooms and a common room which is 'great for meeting other travellers with a game of pool and cheap beers', according to Hostelworld guests, who also say they'd recommend it to friends. We like their colourful and unique murals.

Welcome to our state-of-the-art hostel that looks a bit like a spaceship but is mostly harmless.
We’re your hostel for free stuff in Berlin! We’ve got free Wi-Fi at reception, free coffee and tea from sunrise to sunset, free maps and free English-language guided tours!
We are the most centrally located hostel in downtown Berlin and offer dorms, private cabins and private rooms with showers.
Each of our rooms has been painted by a different artist and features tables, chairs, reading lamps, lockers, a mirror, panoramic windows and wheelchair accessibility. Sheets and towels are included but are subject to a €5 deposit.
Check out our last-minute special - about one week before arrival the last beds get sold from €10!
Our €4 all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet is served from 8am to noon.
Guests enjoy 10 minutes of free internet access! Further internet is available from only €1 per hour.
Our relaxed bar has a comfy Chesterfield sofa and cheap beers (bottled and draught) plus Jaegermeister on tap and much more...have fun! Our cheap beers start at just €1! Snacks and drinks are also available at the bar and there’s more nightlife just around the corner.
Our reception desk is open 24hrs and we have keycard access, a free safe and a free secure luggage room with lockers so you can always feel secure. The large reception area has panoramic windows.
We have movie nights on our large video screen, plus a pool table and a yard and garden where you can hang out when the weather’s suitable. You can also rent sunglasses and buy phone cards from us.
Our friendly and helpful staff will do their best to make your stay as enjoyable as possible in one of the most hospitable (and wheelchair-friendly) starships in Berlin.

Heart of Gold Hostel says
We were really inspired by the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy when we created this hostel. There's a real 'Don't Panic!' backpacker/party atmosphere here. We're in walking distance of almost all sights, like the Reichstag, Brandenburg Gate, Jewish Synagoge, Museums Island, Checkpoint Charlie and more. The famous former artists' squat (now artists' studios) Kunsthaus Tacheles is just 500m from us!

For fun around here we've got a pool table, happy hour in the summer in our beer garden and movies on the big screen in the winter.

Hostel with a Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy theme; awesome! Dorms are cheap, spacious (seriously, you get a massive room and if you're lucky, a single bed) and comfy. Breakfast is a little pricey for what you get, but free towels makes up for it. Cheap beer at the bar, comfy armchairs and a big outdoor area. Great value.
