Really enjoyed the stay. The only thing we didn't like was the lockers. Half of the lockers in our room were bent so much they couldn't lock. This is a feature we typically like to use so we can lock up our valuables, so we had to constantly have them with us. Also, the bathrooms constantly smelled like urine. Other than that, they were clean.

My friends and I were supposed to be in a 50 person room but ended up being split up into different 8 person rooms. The desk attendant thought it was funny and laughed in our faces. One of our rooms had a guest named Stan who smoked weed in the room and left his drugs out on the bed. He sat in his bed and stared into space (or us) all day long. I didn't feel safe. I would not recommend unless you get a private room for you and your friends.

My friend & I stayed in an ensuite & it was like in a Hotel room. Of course, the furniture was very simple & we had to cover the beds by ourselves. The location is very central, tram stations are around the corner. The breakfast was very nice; they have cereals, bread, rolls & even fruits. Coffee & Tea is included & everything for only 4€ & in case you stay there more than 3 nights breakfast is free. The staff was very nice & helpful.

I think he hotel receptionist gave us a pretty bad impression, he seemed rude and a little ignorant. But he was helpful the next day. I would definitely recommend this hostel, the rooms we're big and had big windows, it looks like in the pictures, and the toilets we're clean and the showers also. Close to the subway.

Do you have a 50 bed dorm? I paid for the 50 bed and ended up in the 8 bed. If you don't have one, you should change it on the various hostel websites because I think you would attract more guests. I heard a few people complaining about the music that was playing around 8pm in the bar. It was the reason why I left the bar area and went to my room instead of meeting people. You should play stuff that everyone will enjoy (the music was a guy talking while playing guitar. It was horrible)

I've stayed here several times and the experience is always great. Special mention must go to the excellent staff.

the hostel is very close to the center and only 3 mins to the metro, thats really convenient and the atmosphere is lovely, I mean when you come back in the night after a day tour, your can seat in the bar have a germany beer oh, the music I liked it so much. The only thing is only have wifi in the lobby, there is no wifi in the dorms.

Heart of Gold Hostel has an amazing location. Walking distance to a few U-banh and S banh stations. The rooms are basic but clean. Unfortunately only the bottom bunk beds had reading lights. The shared toilets were clean and close to the room. Our first interaction during check-in wasn't very friendly, he was a young guy who seemed to rush us through. Every other member of staff were very kind and welcoming after that. Great that they have wifi in the lobby area.

In general I coud say that everything was ok.Only in breakfast they had not variety, I understad when the breakfast is included, but here people pay 4 euros for it (only bread, cheese, butter, coffe is not included).

I highly recommend this youth hostel, because of its location, "central Berlin" next to metro, museums, ...very handy. plus it is really clean, i guess they have recently rennovated the hostel. People are really friendly and nice. i find the prices very attractive. Well enjoy your stay, and about safety: you will find lockers inside the room...and I didn't mention the amazing breakfast ! well ! i guess i am not the only one to tell you that, but is is a really nice to stay !

The location of the hostel is very good. A really nice neighbourhood! The room was clean and very basic. Breakfast also basic but good enough. Facilities OK.

A youth hostel, with a nice atmosphere! This clean, and with a friendly staff hostel situated at the very center of Berlin ( walking distance from all major attractions) , is really a good value for money and beautiful. Breakfast is abundant and the reception/ bar is a cosy relaxed area.

The perfect location, big rooms with huge windows, clean, I had a really nice stay at the heart of gold hostel. The only negative thing is that the free wifi only works in the lobby, so you have to leave your room whenever you want to use it.

I had a wonderful stay at Heart of Gold! Great location, very central... In the center but tucked down a quite street. Just a 4 or 5 minute walk to the nearest rail stop. If you forget some thing (or decide to leave it behind) they offer hairdryers and sheets for hire, towels (no deposit), A cozy Bar downstairs, from which noise does not travel to the bedrooms upstairs... Next time I am in Berlin, I will surely stay at your hostel again! Thank you for your hospitality!

The staff were all really friendly and welcoming. This is the kind of hostel I really like: good place to meet people, but set up in a way where one can chill out alone as well.

Great place to stay. The staff were more than helpfull. Rooms very comfortable including an execellent shower area. Bar and breakfast very cheap..
