Really great hostel! We booked a double bed room with shared bathroom and got a double bed room with a private bath... we did not know why but the price was the same. And we got breakfast without having known. two nights, two people only 45.000 pesos. Excellent. Staff were really helpful. Helped me out with every tiny little thing that I needed. :)

Good location and nice rooms. Staff was very helpful but not extremely friendly. Breakfast was more of a snack but it came in handy. Would recommend if you prefer to be close to the town center than the beach. It was about 15-20 mins walk to the beach.
The hotel was renewed when we have been there. The walls of our room were not even properly sealed. It was very cold in the room. We asked for a heater, but the guy on reception could hardly speak english. He offered us a mire expensive room, which we took. He was very strange to all complaints he just smiled and shrugged his shoulders. Later we heard him speaking on the hallway from our room talking to other guests. Surprisingly, he spoke english quite fine... Breakfast ist modest, too.
Friendly guy who checked us in and found a different room that was ready for us which we were very grateful for since had arrived very early after an overnight bus. The breakfast is very simple but Balmaceda offered all we were after.
The hostel is modern and recently updated. Modifications were still in process but did not affect our stay. The hostel staff were very accommodating and welcoming. The décor was fresh, new and clean. It was very modern compared to previous hostels we had stayed in. The super market was close and so was the town centre. We also had a nice walk to the beach.
We stayed in a private room which was very new and absolutely lovely. Good hot shower, nice breakfast, helpful staff, good location halfway between bus station and city centre. Highly recommend this hostel. Extra info it is quite a walk to the beach so be prepared with good shoes and probably avoid going when dark as road a bit isolated
