The hostel was quiet at night and I couldn't hear the street noise at all even though it was in a busy area but the ladies who work there and clean started very early so it was very loud in the hallway starting around 9 maybe, so don't expect to sleep in much. Otherwise I thought the hostel was nice, I got what I paid for!

Location is excellent. Just within minutes you are on the main streets and metro station. The old lady (the owner) does not speak English. I did not speak Spanish and it is still ok. Room is basic and very clean with your own basin. The only issue is that the lady's husband turns on the TV loudly at about 8am everyday. Also you can hear others conversation coming from the corridor. But it depends on whether you are extremely sensitive to sound or not. For me it is acceptable.

My first time staying in a hostel. I was in a single room and had to use shared bathroom, but I had no problem as the bathroom and everything was very clean. The location was perfect.2 minutes to reach to the Grand via metro station. The wife and the husband who manage the Hostel has no English, and I have no Spanish, but we could easily managed to communicate. They are very friendly and nice people. Only problem about the hostel may be the noise of other people which didn't affect me much.

The perfect night off from hosteling. Very cheap private rooms in a small family-run hosel. No tours, hangout room, computer, pamphlets, etc, just pretty much a cheap, small, clean hotel. Located on a very busy pedestrian street in the core of the city, though noise was no problem. Perfect for a night or two just to decompress. But not for those looking for a traditional fun, rowdy, hostel experience.

This is a budget hostel, and I guess you kinda get what you pay for -- it looks very shabby but it's not dirty. Perhaps I pulled the short straw and got the room right next to the entrance, which was the noisiest -- not an issue if you're out until late, but up until around midnight, the landlady was watching TV in the room next door, and the walls are very thin. My room also had no window. Plus points: Excellent location, my room was ensuite, and free wifi (which I did not use).

I totally agree with other reviews. This place is so clean and the bed is comfortable, nice and firm, sadly the older couple do not speak English. I had a hard time but its my own fault for not brushing up with my Spanish. Still, they were very nice and lovely. The area is good. It is located on the shopping block, like literally 2 min or less walking to Gran Via and Sol, very tourist-y area. I would definitely stay at Las Murallas again.
