Friendly and helpful staff, nice garden, good breakfast. I liked to stay there although the dorm was full and the ceiling fan was on max and so a little loud in the night. Absolutely recommendable.

Whatever you think you can imagine it looks like based on the pictures, rest assured, they do no justice to the place - it is simply an amazing place to stay! Staff is very friendly, courteous and willing to offer any and all knowledge of the area. I would whole-heartedly recommend it, and already have to friends passing through Valladolid, who stayed there as well. Will definately go back on the next trip!

Great value for money. We stayed in a very private double and the little garden out the back was lovely. The staff were very helpful with recommending a place to hire bikes, cenotes to see, restaurants to eat at etc. Basic breakfast included (bread, cereal, fruit) which was fine.

Located near a church, and there was a religious festival. We couldn't sleep ! music and songs + bells from 6.30am to late at night and then a noisy concert from a stadium nearby until 2 am. Avoid this location at all cost !!

Nice hostel- had a private room that was small but sufficient. Great location. It was a little loud at night, but we were so tired it didn't keep us from sleep. The shower didn't have much warm water when I tried it out. Overall good experience. Great location to go see Ek Balam and Chichen Itza ruins.

I really enjoyed our stay at La Candelaria, and the town of Valladolid in general. We booked a private room, which was nice and was good value for the price. The bed wasn't great, but was better than many other hostels we stayed in throughout our Mexico trip. The garden area is a great place to kick back after a day of exploring the ruins and cenotes, with hammocks for you to relax in. The free breakfast was also nice, and the staff were very helpful. I wish we could have stayed longer!

I loved this place! The staff was incredibly kind of friendly and there\'s a lovely garden with hammocks. And then there\'s Bob, the chihuahua. This guy is such a charmer, but ladies, be warned. You might think you have a special connection with him. Then one day you\'ll come back to the hostel only to find Bob blissed out on some other woman\'s lap! Again, a great hostel and a great town. And Bob, I\'ll never forget you.

The hostel is run with a lot of thought about the comfort of budget travellers. The location is excellent. A better than average breakfast is included. The garden is wonderful. There were problems with water supply during my visit but this is hardly the fault of the owner who worked like a trojan to correct it. There was a problem with bathroom cleaning but this was rectified immediately when I mentioned it. The couple who run this hostal really aim to do the best possible job.

This place is everything a good hostel should be: friendly, efficient staff, comfortable bunks that don`t wobble and creak and a beautiful garden to relax or socialise in.

Super garden, very friendly staff and a lovely city. Tip: do visit EK Balam, it's a lovely, small site.

A decent hostel in a good area. It wasnt any special but the garden was supercool. We rented bikes from the hostel and took a ride to the cenotes which was cool!

Can't say enough how much I enjoyed La Candelaria. Located in a beautiful square, run by a very friendly staff (thanks Jose!) and providing a nice breakfast, its only drawback is to be near a church where a bell is rang two times starting at 6h30 AM, although not every day...
