My stay at Casa Amelia was soured due to being locked out of the hotel after returning at 11.30 at night. My friend and I returned to find the hotel locked up tight, no answer on the doorbell, knocking or on asking a friendly local to call the hotel for us. We ended up having to stay at the restaurant of someone we had met on our way to Flores. This kind of treatment is totally unacceptable, I would never recommend anyone stay here, we were very lucky to have anywhere safe to sleep at all.

By far, one of the best places I have stayed in during our Central America trip. We had a lovely room overlooking the lake. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room clean, and the working A/c was a godsend during the sweltering day and night. Excellent value.

This is a wonderful find. Our room faced the lake with wonderful views. The roof top deck was a great added benefit. The staff was friendly and helpful. We loved FLores and really loved Casa Amelia - great value - highly recommend.

Good hostel - they were very good at organising the bus to Tikal and a bus to Belize. Nothing fancy about the rooms but clean and good value for money.
