We had an excellent stay at Huangshan Ancient Town. Our twin double room was clean, spacious and bright. The location couldn't be better, in the heart of the old town. A taxi to the bus station takes 10 mins and from here you can get a bus to Huangshan Mountain which takes around 1 hour. Some staff were helpful and friendly, others were not so nice. The breakfast was very delicious - I recommend the Swiss one. The social room with pool tables was a bit run down and could do with a make over.

We spend 3days at Huangshan with the target to see the Yellow mountains. But we can not because of the very bad information from this hostel. The mountains were closed because of hikking competition and they did not mention about that when I asked them some info about the best day to go. The hostel has a good location but very noisy and whithout curtain.

Terrible and extreamly dirty, toilets seemed cleaned once a month, the place seemes a squatter house, it should not be listed as an hospitality place. We moved out after the second night we were disgusted from the bad smell and how dirty was. (And we had a private twin room, the toilet was dirty even in a private)

The only things would be to give a key for all lugagges box in the rooms, it seems to be a bit messy, now, but since the staff propose to keep valuables stuffs for free at the front desk and eager to make it safe, that a little issue.

Very helpful staff who helped with everything you could ask them. Squat toilets in the shared bathrooms is the only real issue for me but this is China so it's to be expected. Overall a very good place to stay

This might be a nice place in summer but it is for sure not in winter. We arrived in the afternoon and were given a 10bed dorm with a very big window and only a small AC.We turned the AC on and 3 hours later the room was still as cold as before. When we asked the staff about changing the room, providing another heating method or more blankets they were not very willing to help. After 2 hours bargaining in Chinese we could finally change rooms where2of us had to share 1single bed but it was warm.

Room is too cold during winter, and hostel needs to purchase heater to heat up the room. Need to ensure that there is hot water supply during winter.

We had trouble to find that place haha, google maps showed us a different place, so be careful! If you arrive to Huangshan by train, expect mass of people to "welcome" you, that's quite annoying. BUT: Huangshan Mountain area is awesome, and so was this hostel. Staff was really friendly and it was no problem to store our luggage overnight when visiting the Yellow Mountain. Atmosphere was very good and you're directly in the Ancient Town with many restaurants and original shops. The room was nice!
