We had a great stay! Not in the centre of town, but not far away at all. A 30peso taxi ride from the ADO station. A 5 minute walk to the main Plaza. We had a small, but clean and tidy private room. Everything you would expect and hope from a hostel, for a good price. We had a great time and met loads of cool people there. San Cristobel is well worth checking out, and I would imagine there are not many better places to stay than Iguana Hostel

I enjoyed my stay here. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere and location were good. The only thing I disliked was that much of the common area is more outside, which can be an issue at night since it gets cold.

Iguana Hostel is the best hostel I have ever stayed in. The staff there are super nice and welcoming. Breakfast is cooked by them every morning. Perfect place to meet friends and look for travel companions. Yet, there is no hot water shower in the female dorm, so one has to go to the public one, but it is just a minor problem and the shower in the public bathroom is perfect.

I loved the staff and other visitors at Iguana (and the breakfast is good), but the communal bathrooms seemed to never be cleaned and the door to the dorm is always open, so anything that doesn´t fit in the locker is just out for anyone with a front door key.

The hostel looks better in photos, its ok but they have some issues to address: 1)The downstairs bathroom is dirty the most of the times and nobody did anything about it,i found a big spider inside and i had to take it out cause nobody was taking care about it. 2)The room that i was in was plain and a bit dark. 3)The staff is cool they dont speak spanish that is an issue in México.

You get what you pay for. This place is nothing fancy. But the mattresses were good, Internet kitchen wi fi hammock in the sun. Excellent location. For that price - can't complain.
