A good place overall, very clean with air conditioning and free breakfast. No kitchen to use, no computers to use and staff ,although nice, were often unavailable for any questions. Location was excellent and quiet.

Perfectly placed to see the historic centre of Bologna, and the staff look after you. There is no kitchen to make your own food, but there are ample bathrooms to service the small hostel. It seems a place designed for couples, there are double rooms and no communal space. The walls are thin. The A/C is good.

Clean, well located, nice environment and kind advises from the receptionist. The price for an individual room is very good

Facilities and room wise, it was the nicest hostel I have ever booked. It is fancy. I had the room to myself and it had a/c, nice bathrooms and very comfy beds. Definitely would recommend.

Just 100m walking from the main shopping street of Bologna. Also nearby Piazza Maggiore. Good breakfast en nice rooms with airco! The only negative thing: there are no computers available, so backpackers: book your next hostel before you're going to this one or prepare for a search for a internetcafe

This can be a very good B&B but it all depends on what room you are in.. Rooms 1 and 2 (for 2 or 3 persons) lie next to each other, only separated by a thin wall. There is a lot of noise and light filters through from the room next door. The room with double bed on the other hand is very quiet and very comfortable. Breakfast depends on who serves it, as sometimes got toast and sometimes not... The location in the city centre is fantastic!

A little hard to find because they don't have a big sign. They just put their name on the door bell. Rooms, bathrooms and breakfast were good afterall. The city maps they gave was just a small copy in black

I really enjoyed my stay @ Il Casello !! The staff couldn't be more friendly. You guys (girls ;p) are really super nice, polite, helpfull and friendly. I'm definitely going to recommend Il Castello to friends. Also thanks for the suggestions to visit in Bologna :D Thanks for the nice stay and the good breakfast ! "Ik wens jullie al het beste! This centrally located, clean, quiet and the girls who looked after us were very friendly. The only downside is that the breakfast area is right next to the rooms and once begins serving time in the room that I had heard everything and I woke up.

Great place to stay in Bologna and good value for money! They provide a lovely breakfast and the bedrooms and bathrooms are nice and clean. Very very hard place to find though! Probably need a sign outside the building or something - we walked past it four times without finding it! In the end it took four policmen to help us find it!

Its a nice place to take a rest.close to the main center.Breakfast poor. Also, they have a very bad sistem to open the door. reception close at 5pm, guests must leave the door closed, but cant lock it..but some people just forgot about that and a few people were locked inside the hostel for almost 2 hours waiting for someone come from outside and unlock the door!!!!! First, its very stupid this system, second, is dangerous, because if something happen inside the hostel, its impossible to leave!

Owner Comment (Hide)
The client had the "last minute" breakfast, as she has an offer for only 15€ for the room. Any client has the key to open the main door from inside and from outside. Maybe some is not used to use the keys.... Anyway the problem was solved in a very short time, and with non danger for anyone.

Clean and good organized place, you cannot use the kitchen for your stuff not the best atmosphere but still a good place to stay

Difficult to identify this hostel from outside, it just looks like a garage door and there is little signage to show you are at the right place. Once inside however it's clean and comfortable. There isn't a great atmosphere or a common area to speak of so it's probably better if you're after a quite stay or are with friends and going to be heading out. Good location though close to all the main sights.

Good, in the center of the city

The moment we checked in we were charged a €10 fee for arriving 10 mins past 7 pm. The staff run the place like a business and there are fines on everything. For instance, if you leave your luggage at the reception after you check out past 2 pm, you are fined. The rooms, though clean, had absolutely no sound proof. We could hear the faintest noises from next door. The staff refused to offer us breakfast even though we paid for it since we were leaving before 8 am.

Good clean b&b. Very friendly and helpful staff. Enjoyed my stay there.

very poor bathroom!

The street is noisy with no soundproof windows, breakfast definitely the worse I've seen.

The hostel location is good, on the city central, not far from the main street, but hardly to find when you first visit. Staff is friendly, and the environment is very clearn. BUT... it's poor sound proof, and the shower water is not hot, and low water pressure. and there is only vending machine and microwave for use.
