The host Edmund, was a treat with his colourful stories as well as his guidance on which hiking trails to visit. Wish we had more time to stay and visit.

The lodge is good as a start point for hikers in champagne valley. Breakfast is optional and for my opinion a little rip off for what you get (maze and some bad juice, but no eggs). Ed, the owner is extremely helpful and have a lot of mountaineering knowledge. It's a good place, but don't expect luxury- it's a mountain lodge.

I couldn't even imagine this place to be any better. It's superb in every way imaginable. The host prepares supper every night, and he's a wonderful cook. Definitely worth staying in for the meal.

good food, well equipped kitchen, splendid view, especially when in the pool, Ed can tell you all you want to know about hiking, food, etc....

We booked 2 beds in a dorm for 4 nights. We got the whole room just for us two (manager placed new people in other free rooms). Big plus for that! There are no lockers in the room. Rooms are nice, spacious and clean. Big advantage: there was an electric heater! It was freezing cold at night (August). There's also nice lounge with magazines, fireplace, etc. The lodge is situated close to Monk's Cowl entrance (15 min by car). Staff is very helpful but not very knowledgeable on hiking trails.

Nice hostel in a wonderful location in the Drakensbergen, close to Monk's Cowl from where you can do beautiful hikes. The garden is beautiful and a nice place to relax for a while. The kitchen was too small for the number of huts, so we had to wait before we could start cooking for both nights. The owner was very unhelpful (in explaining about hikes, the region, what's around, etc.).

Ed is so very helpful. Felt like he really cared about his guests. He really knows the Drakensberg Mtns. and gears the treks to their ability. Vincent is great security and the housekeepers were super. The highlight of our stay was dinner the night before we left....especially hiswonderful soup, the best bread ( homemade by Ed) we've had in two weeks in South Africa We would recommend Inkosana to anyone staying in the Drakensbergs, David & Georgette Haigue, Twinsburg Ohio U.S.A.

Beautiful setting and garden. The rondavels are great. Very nice evening meals.

What I would describe as a \"hikers hostel\" (what else would you be doing in the Drakensberg?!) Feels a bit out on a limb, but is quite central for travelling around the National Park. Tasty veggie dinners and breakfast are laid on every day and the owner is very knowledgable about hiking routes nearby.

Quiet, nice place. You can spend a reaaly good time here, doing hiking in Drakensberg and have a rest in Inkosana Lodge. Need a car.

Lovely lodge in a beautiful surrounding. Room was quaint and had character, everything clean and in order. Bars and restaurants within reasonable driving distance, as well as some great walks! No internet or TV was a hassle. Would definitely stay here again.

Second visit to a superb hostel with amazing views.

It's a very pretty place to stay! very wild and nature, excelent place to get away! but the grass to the rondavels is kinda high that it makes quite difficult to walk through it at night, even tho is still a very nice place to stay.
