The staff at the hostel were super friendly and loved to chat with you. They were also very helpful if you had questions about where to go and how to get there. The beds were very warm and comfy so I had a very pleasant sleep as well. I really felt comfortable at J-hoppers Takayama hostel.The staff at the hostel were super friendly and loved to chat with you. Loved this place, mostly for the staff that gave it such a good vibe and offer events pretty much every day (such as road trips and hiking adventures to known waterfalls). It was nice to hear Kenji busting out some nice tunes on the guitar each evening - don't worry, the room I was in on the 2nd floor was very quiet. I'd recommend this place to anybody wanting to experience Japan's beautiful outdoors.Loved this place, mostly for the staff that gave it such a good vibe and offer events pretty much every day (such as road trips and hiking adventures to known waterfalls). Excellent location, very clean, facilities are new and well maintained, English speaking staff are very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly, this hostel is 2 class above some of the European hostels I have been to recently. We had a private Japanese style room, which was clean and comfortable. J hoppers has a kitchen, washing machine and rents bikes, so you can use all of the 'hostel facilities', but still stay in a hotel room. J Hoppers is a great place to stay, tatami clean and comfortable (not thin)staff friendly and very helpful, hostel has good clean kitchen and amenities. Would go there again.
