Jacky's Guesthouse is set in a magic location at the top of the rice terraces. The staff are warm and friendly making the place feel very homely. Views from the balcony over the terraces and village homes towards the mountains are simply spectacular! Jacky's English is great and he can advise on the best walking trails and views in the area.

The view is excellent. Jacky is helpful and he is busy all the time. Food and car renting is a little bit expensive to compare with others(50% higher). However, if you can't speak Chinese, you have no choice. No room service, no toilet paper even I stayed 6 night.

Stayed here for 4 nights. Great place. The best were the people running the place. It feels like you stumbled into a big super hospitable family (that knows how to cook!). Jacky himself was able to help you with about anything in fluent english, he knows where you should go and how you should get there. This super guesthouse made the stay in Yuanyang one of my best experiences in China. Tip: It's difficult to find, try to get in touch with Jacky beforehand so he can help you get there.

The location was great. The staff was warm and helpful (we spoke Chinese to them so I don't know if they spoke English or not). Jacky answered my phone calls for questions, booked train tickets for us, arranged a taxi, etc. To get there you have to take a minivan taxi, and if you wait to share with others you can pay ¥15 instead of ¥80-100 by yourself. The food was ¥15-30 for very little (an egg and slices of white bread/fried rice), but there's nothing else around.

It was cold and a heated dining room could improve the place, however, that aside, this place is excellent.

It was a really enjoyable stay. The view from the terrace is wonderful. The only minor disadvantage was that there was no internet access. Thank you!

This place is absolutely amazing! Jacky's mother and the other ladies who work there are great! They will cook a very good dinner for you, and I would recommend the chinese style breakfast. Much better than the western one, although its not bad either! I hope this place doesn't loose its charm when it gets bigger, as they are adding more rooms now. There is absolutely nothing bad to say about this place! Please leave everything as it is right now!

Enjoyed the stay, enjoyed the home-cooked meals, enjoyed the down-to-earth, close-to-nature kind of ambience... a simply lovely Guesthouse. Thanks to Jacky and his cheerful mum If you like to escape from the bustling city..., this is a good hiding place!

Fabulous guesthouse. Great food and very hospitable family. A bit difficult to find so you need to have Jacky's mobile number handy so that your driver can call to confirm where to go. The drivers seem to know Sunny Guesthouse but didn't seem to know Jacky's. It's all good though - when the driver has called he'll drop you off and someone comes to meet you to walk you down down down to the village. It goes without saying that this is not a 'suitcase' destination. We loved it.
