A pleasant little hostel near John's cafe. The woman who runs it provides lots of information about how to get places. You can use the kitchen to cook and keep things in the fridge.
One of the best hostels I've stayed at in China (and I've been traveling for 3 months)! Rita and her family live right next door, so it really felt more like a homestay for me, especially since I was there after the heavy tourist season. She's super-nice and very helpful. It's VERY CLEAN which is awesome and one of the few places with kitchen access. Totally recommended!

Good things: excellent location, good staff, excellent atmosphere, nice looking hostel Bad things: no lockers, anyone can come in and out you room also from outside the hostel so better keep your valuables with you at all times; bed is awful as it is just a wood plank
very homey hostel run by a local couple with their young daughter. They were very friendly and helpful. They dont organize tours but had lots of information. nice simple rooms.
