We only stayed here one night during an extended airport layover, but we really enjoyed our stay. The staff is wonderful, and was able to arrange a Borobudur trip for our group that fit into our very, very brief time there. Definitely owe them a huge thank you for that!

Staff was very helpful. Good value for the money. The location was nice, albeit touristy. Nice decor and good atmosphere, but felt more like an old motel than a hostel.

Very nice architecture and location. The staff are really friendly and helpful. I wandered around alone in Jogja but I've never felt lost. Many thanks to the directions and help of KD staff!

Recieved an email on the morning I was to arrive telling me that they actually didn't have any room. Got into Yogya late, found a room and noticed an email (sent early evening) saying that they had a cancellation and they now had room for me. I already had somewhere to stay, so in the AM I went to get back my deposit. It wasn't refunded so I lost $ because of poor organization at reception. I have no comments on the facilities as I didn't get to actually stay. Better booking organization needed!

Helpful staff except when you want to extend your stay. Hot water is available but not necessarily at your request. Also, don't get too excited about the breakfast or afternoon tea as although they are served when you want, the food is cold. The location is near some nice shops and restaurants but a Becak ride away from anything else, especially Malioboro St which is a 45 min walk. The downstairs rooms each have a little terrace which is nice to sit on and drink Javanese tea!

Stayed for 4 days in one of the double rooms adjacent to the patio. Nice atmosphere, room's ok and clean. Friendly staff, convenient location. The mosque will wake you up at 5am every day, although you get used to that :-). Walls are paperthin, if your neighbours sneeze you'll notice.

Very clean hostel. The staff is also very friendly with booking and arranging tour details. The receptionist speaks good enough English to help you book trips. It's a bit far from Malioboro and other touristy-ish places, although the street itself (Prawirotaman) has lots of touristy cafes. You won't find a lot of street food around here for budget and tasty eats.

we really enjoyed how helpful the staff was in helping us and our children. I liked the traditional breakfast they offered and the tours to Borobudur and Pramanan was without the extra fluff some tours force you to go to.

The staff and service really make this place. They are helpful and the perks like breakfast and afternoon tea and snacks is actually quite nice, especially since it is all local food. The fan rooms however (we stayed in 2) are musty and slightly damp. Public washroom is mediocre at best. Garden area outside is nice. Area is in backpacker/tourist area and is close to Via Via restaurant which is the place to be on that road.

very cozy environment surrounded with an open air tropical garden. the staffs are friendly and informative. the only comment is the not-changing breakfast and hi-tea. anyway, we enjoy it though.

Kampeong Djawa is a nice place to stay, a little pricey, but the gents that run it are great guys (even if they are a litttttttle bit pushy to get their tours on your agenda). Good location near restaurants (including ViaVia and Milas) and other cafes. Good place if you plan on resting in your room or staying out all day. One day they treated us to completely free and unasked-for afternoon tea which was great!

One of the best guesthouses I've stayed at, with superb facilities and amazingly friendly and helpful staff. The afternoon tea is a wonderfully cheeky bonus!
