A 2-kilometre walk to the Park entrance, but very good value in comparison to Park accommodation. Peaceful hillside location with fine views (but NOT of the mountain), and within the cloud forest. Hundreds of moths! Friendly staff, good vegetarian meals. No towels provided.

Staying at the Kinabalu Mountain Logde can be an experience out of your comfort zone. It is located in the rainforest, so be prepared to come across giant beetles and moths and generally a lot of insects. It is a great place to stay before or after climbing Mt Kinabalu and a perfect spot if you just want to do some daytrips. Staff is very friendly.

The view from the Kinabalu Mountain Lodge is amazing. However, the way to reach the property is quite challenging. It's 1 km from the National Park gate to the main entrance and then another less than 1 km with steep roads up and down. If you bring heavy backpack, ask the driver to drop you at the location. Walking to the national park gate take around 30 minutes or less. If you're in hurry taxi is available for 20 RM one trip. Breakfast and dinner menu choices is limited. Hot shower works great

The road leading to the lodge needs a 4 wheel drive. Need to improve on hot water facilities

Overall not bad, the walk from the junction is a little steep with backpacks, the location is 2k from the national park so is walking distance via the road. The view from the lodge is breathtaking staff are friendly. The dorm was clean, comfy pod beds. No wifi. Breakfast isn't included and basic, pay for tea and coffee outside of breakfast time. dinner was poor. Take food and water if you go, you can't reach a shop and although you can buy water and drinks they are pricey for a backpacker.

Great hostel, in easy reach of the Kinabalu National Park. Staff very accommodating, and made us lunch outside of the allotted time. Things to note; there are moths everywhere, which wasn't a problem for us, might be for others. No wifi, or much signal. No TV. Perfect to relax and unwind. The communal area is very close to some of the rooms, and with thin walls we were awoken at 5.30 when others decided to have breakfast. No towels provided. Great porridge - not included. Bring cash.

Very lovely stay! Within walking distance to Kinabalu national Park. Beautiful view from the living area/porch. Nice vegetarian food. Stayed in the dorm for two nights, good thick mattresses, everyone has there own space. If you are arriving after 17h and expect diner, better warn them in advance, they only cook diner of you make a reservation for dinner.

Really nice place out in the mountains. Its about 1.6km to the park and about 3km to the nearest WIFI spot (D'villa). The bottom beds had little head space but were really comfy and the lockers are pretty small but its not the most likely place to get robbed. The mountain is run by and awesome family and there's insects absolutely everywhere EXCEPT the bedrooms and bathrooms. They also cook pretty nice meals :)
