Juan Carlos is one of the best receptionist we have met during our travels. He was really welcoming and helpful when we arrived, we had a lovely chat and he even took our suitcase to the room. The room, kitchen and bathroom were all clean and the location was very convenient. The only downside of our stay was the temperature in our room (number 11 on the very top, right under the roof) which made it impossible to do both, stay there during the day and sleep during the night. Air con needed.

This was absolutely worts place I have ever stayed. Just oly one thing which was great is staff. We had micro small room for two people with double bed. Bed was pressed to the wall so one person must jump over another one if want to leave. There were two windows oriented to the gallery, so no fresh air for 5 nights. There were aircondition, but it was so noisy, that we cant sleep. tOnly one bath for two floors, allways crowded. And big roach in kitchen! Not recommend this place!

The staff was really nice and the room was light and airy, but not that clean. The bed wasn't very comfortable and the shower small. The kitchen was nice and clean and there even was a washing machine!

Great location, very friendly and helpful staff here. The bathroom was not cleaned as often as it should have been, is my only complaint. For the price we paid, it was great value

Juan Carlos was very friendly. There was a laptop at reception for general use but the connection was painfully slow. The smell of urine in the alley way was not pleasant. People out in the street kept us awake for several hours. One of the other guests hogged the bathroom for ages, so had to wait some time to use the toilet.

Clean room and had a ceiling fan which is great. The kitchen had necessities, bathroom was clean, it was a very quiet hostel good for sleeping but not a very social hostel. Walking distance to most places we really liked Malaga.

It's a SHAME to propose such a little room to stay : 1. the room, as a single, was 1,50 m x 2, 50 m 2. the room is in front of the toilettes shared 3. the bed wasn't changed for more than 10 years and is making noise and all the customers can hear it all night 4. the door is making noise each time you open and close it and all the customers can hear it all day and all night For one night it's ok, plus, you've got the internet at the entry Definitively NOT recommanded for a single

The towels were flimsy and a half used soap container was a bit tacky.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. It's a nice place at a good location. A bit noisy sometimes but not too much.

Lovely bright hostel with quirky decoration combined with beautiful original Andalucian tiling. My room was light & airy with plenty of space. The member of staff who welcomed me was very friendly & helpful, & spoke excellent English. Very well situated for exploring Old Town Malaga. Also, no outside noise as the hostal is in a narrow, pedestrianised street.

it was fine for a two night short stay in the centre of Malaga. Quiet in terms of noise from the street but in the hostel it was noisy being woken up with doors and people walking around upstairs. As we were hardly in the room or hostel it was a fine place as a base.

I stayed in La Casa Mata last Saturday and I was really impressed with the facilities. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The room I had was lovely! All kitted out with Ikea furnishings, it was clean and modern and perfect for an overnight stay. The hostel in a typical andalucian house and located in a beautiful little side street just off one of the main streets of Malaga, so it's quiet, but if you want to grab something to eat, there's plenty of amazing bars and restaurants nearby.

Although the single room was very small it was perfectly adequate. The shared bathroom facilities were good but perhaps too may people using them.
