Very happy with this hostel! Great rooms with hot water, good wifi. No problem leaving bags for your Colca Canyon tours. The owner, Jose, was a great help and a really nice guy.

We had a nice stay at this hostel. The owner, José, is really helpful, chatty and nice although rather chaotic. He recommended a good company with which to trek the Colca Canyon and also kept our bags at the hostel for three days, even though we didn't stay there on our return. The room was acceptable in size. The kitchen is very small.

Jose and Claudia really were helpful. We arrived at a very busy holiday time so could not an extra night before our booking. Jose helped us find another place, which took many calls, and escorted us there. Posada Kuraka is not fancy but was very comfortable. City noises are part of staying in a central area but the location is convenient to stores, laundries, tourist sites . We would stay there again and recommend it to others. Showers are warmest middle of the day due to solar heating.

Not a good place to meet people. No real common areas and mostly couples But is a great place for a nice, quiet place to sleep. Great location close to plaza and lots of restaurants. Staff here are very friendly and helpful. Safe and clean place for a budget price. TV in rooms too was nice and very hot water, just don't shower too early as it's solar powered!

Great hostel with friendly staff. Helped us very kindly find a hostel when we returned from Cloca Canyon and they were booked up.

We liked the location because it is not too far from centre and all the agencies for tour booking. Rooms are really dark but bed was comfortable and bathroom was ok. There was a kitchen - dirty, don't like. Old food was standing around and it smelled. Staff/owner is really chaotic. It seems they don't know who stays in which room - but it worked for us. We stayed two nights (before and after tour) and then changed Samana Wasi (same street, really close) which got bright rooms and same price :-)

It's good place to stay while you're in Arequipa. The staff is very helpful and it's a great location.

Nice small hostel near main plaza and amenities. Great for price...great hot showers. Also allowed us to store our bags when we went to do trek the Colca canyon. Jose and his wide are very friendly, there was a few things lost in translation but nothing drastic. Jose booked our bus out of Arequipa which was great. Also did our laundry at short notice which was great. Only downside was we had downstairs room following our trek which was very loud as walls are quite thin. Great sun terrace

An excellent cost benefit, specially considering the kind attention of the staff, who are always at your disposal for provide valued information or to just a nice chat. Gracias José y Claudia.

All the positive reviews about the family atmosphere thanks to the owner, Jose, aren't lying! We were greeted by Jose's cousin initially, but soon after arriving Jose welcomed us, helped us book various tours of Colca Canyon and even tracked down a fraud tour operator and got my friend's money back. The hotel itself is great, with a beautiful terrace overlooking the city. Wifi, hot showers, etc. Good location too!

We stayed here before and after our trip to the Colca Canyon and had 2 very different experiences! Before our Canyon trip, our stay was good, friendly welcome & the room wasn't ready but we were early so they cleaned it for us. But when we returned from the Canyon, our stay was much more chaotic, we got no toilet paper nor towels in our room and there is only one person there that seems to know what's going on and he's not always there! So, friendly enough place but pretty disorganised.

We were only here for a night but had a great experience. Jose was so helpful and sweet! Shower had hot water. Quiet hostel which is what we were looking for after 24 hrs of traveling. Highly recommend!

Great location in the center of Arequipa, and Jose and the staff do a wonderful job showing individual attention to each guest.

Jose did everything possible to help us during our stay. Booking bus tickets, sorting out hot water issue immediately, finding us a reliable taxi on the street when we were in a hurry to catch a bus. A great host and excellent hostel.

José is a very nice person and tries his best to make the guests feel comfortable. The hostel is just a 3 min walk away from the Plaza de Armas and has nice rooms. We really enjoyed staying there! The first night we had to go to another hostel, because it was fully booked. José brought us to the nice woman running the Hostel La Posada del virrey, located just on the other side of the road. The hostel was also really nice, especially the terrace on the roof and the lady was lovely :)

Jose and his family are great, very hospitable and super helpful. The hostel is located very close to the main square, and near to many restaurants. Good wifi in the main area, and a nice view of Misti volcano. Would definitely stay here again! :)

Do not stay anywhere else in Arequipa. The guy who runs this place is beyond helpful- he really will go out of his way for you. I was taking a night bus, and not only could I store my bag here during the day, he let me have a shower in an empty room and use the facilities even though I had paid for only one night. Plus, he gave me great tips and advice for how to get around the city, etc. PLUS I had the most blissful hot shower of my life- he uses solar panels so you never run out of hot water!

Excellent. The Posada is a marvellous place to stop during the travels. The rooms are very clean, the beds - comfortable, staff- super helpful, they will even sort your laundry out for 3 soles a kilo.Aa small kitchen equipped with utensils enables you to prepare food, from salads to whatever else you fancy. Fantastic if you a budget traveller. The highlight of the Posada is the terrace with a splendid view of the city and three volcanoes. I loved it so much, going back there for another 3 days
