Jose was a nice guy and speak english. he emailed us before we even get there. He helpepd us planning/booking tours. We had a very nice room and warm/hot shower! No breakfast but at the street there are plenty places to buy bread or take a bf. We can really recommend this place for good price and good location just a view blocks away from the disco's and bars.

This is a really nice place to stay, close to the Monasterio, and just a few blocks from Plaza de Armas. Owner Jose is very friendly and accomodating. Rooms are ok, the floors are a bit dusty though. But for this price I think you could hardly find a better place...

The hostel owner is seriously the happiest, friendliest guy on the planet. Super nice, lets you leave your luggage there if you go on the 2 day Colca Canyon trek. Easy walk to the central plaza (and there's a delicious crepe place you should eat at on the way), clean rooms and super affordable. The only possible downside is there's no breakfast, but Arequipa is full of good food options. There's even an adorable fluffy dog!

We had a very nice stay at 'La Posada del Kuraka'. The owner of the hostel, José, is such a good host and will do everything to make you feel at home in Arequipa. Unfortunately, I got sick during my stay. José constantly checked if I felt any better and made me some maté de coca (which helped a lot!) I strongly recommend this hostel! Even when you'd get sick, you'll enjoy your stay!

Amazing views from the roof, especially at sunset.

My boyfriend and I stayed here initially for 2 nights but ended up staying 5! Jose is such a good host, he helped us buy bus tickets and laundry is done on site! Rooms and showers are fine (usually hot!), especially for the price you pay it's a real bargin! Would recommend to quiet travellers, thank you Jose!

The facilities were good. The staff was fair. Be sure to get a receipt when you pay. They tried to charge us twice for everything including the room and the laundry they did for us. The topper was when we had them call us a cab for the airport and the driver delivered us to the bus station.

Great hostel centrally located in Arequipa! We stayed for 2 nights in a matrimonial ensuite and were really pleased with the good price, the 5 minute walk to the central plaza, and the fact there was lots of hot water (which quickly becomes the most important thing when you're backpacking in Peru!). The owner was also super friendly and attentive - he knew exactly who we were and what time we were expected to arrive, and he gave us a good map and advice on areas to visit/avoid :)

La Posada del Kuraka is nicely situated on the northern end of the centre of Arerquipa and is well run by Jose and his family. Jose will help you out with companies to do trips with and the cheap laundry service at three soles per kilo is a nice bonus. The showers aren't always as you'd like and the kitchen can get a little cramped, but La Posada del Kuraka is a good little place to stay if you're looking to take it easy and have a base for Colca Canyon and other tours.
