La Em Casa is wonderful! It's in a bohemian neighborhood and the staff go out of their way to make your stay perfect. The breakfast is AMAZING - homemade cake, fruit, buns, freshly squeezed fruit juices. The place is impeccably clean, lockers under bed for storage and hot water in the bathroom. About a 25 minute walk to city center or 40 minutes to Praca Liberdade. Would definitely stay again!

Great staff, great hostel! me and my friend stayed in the 6 bedrooms dorm, comfy and clean. Breakfast is yummy, Christophe has great tips to share and you can tell he loves BH and Santa tereza, a neighborhood definitely worth seeing. We loved staying there and we will come back for sure.

A very nice little hostel in a neighbourhood just outside the central city core of Belo Horizonte. Taxi, 2 bus lines (9103 or 9210) or a 25-min walk from the Parque Municipal. Very friendly and helpful owner & staff. Free WiFi, a kitchen, good breakfast (included). Clean bathrooms, a nice shady garden behind the house. Locking drawers under the beds plus lockers (slightly tight). Supermarkets, restaurants, good ice-cream parlours nearby. Would/will come back and certainly recommend.

Besides everything basic being in top-notch order (cleanliness, facilities, etc.) what makes La em Casa special is it´s very homely atmosphere. I felt more like I was visiting a friend than renting a bed, and would recommend the hospitality of Maria and Co. at any time. Thanks for a great stay!

I stayed in La em Casa Hostel-Pousada 3 nights. Marilia, the owner of the hostel was very friendly and helpful. She started off my stay with a Portuguese lesson. Breakfast is nice, the hostel is really clean and it has great location to go out. I highly recommend it to anyone.

Marilia and her staff are excellent! She is very pleasant, helpful with information, and gives great Portuguese lessons and tips! The staff treated me like a friend from the moment I arrived. The location is very near city centre and in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood. I will stay again if I get the chance. At the very least, I will visit Marilia and her staff if I am anywhere near Belo!

Excellent hostel and staff. Christophe and Marília make you feel like you're really at home. Igor also knows the best bars in the vicinity, telling good indications. They help with any doubts you may have, explain the surroundings with a map and do whatever it takes to make you feel extremely comfortable. The breakfast is awesome, with a different natural juice everyday and regional food (as cheese from Canastra region and doce de leite - a sweet cream made from milk). I'll recommend and return.

A very nice hostel with character and the possibility to meet nice people! The staff take their time to tell you what to do and where to go in BH, call i.e. taxis for tourists who don't speak English and call tourist attractions to find out whether they're open. Very good breakfast with fresh juice etc. The "second" house is across the street and not (yet) as nice as the original house, but I'm sure they'll get there soon. Not enough lockers for everyone. TV would be nice for rainy days ;)

Owner Comment (Show)
Hi traveler! Thanks for your opinion and suggestions! That's true the second house is just beginning and we had not enough lockers at that moment, but this problem is now solved (actually we had order more lockers that were delivered later than we expected!). About TV I'm not sure yet, but we bought more games and books in English! = )

This is the 100% Hostel cause I have never been in a better one. Its like staying with friends but cleaner;) Very nice staff that showed us around the city. Every tip they gave where on point. The supreme 2 bedroom is more a hotel room so defenatly worth the money. The interior of the whole hostel is very charming. Just a place where yiu want to stay.

Nicest staff of any hostel I've stayed in. One of them even went out of her way to help me when I was having problems with a different hostel. Overall the place was reasonably clean, but the bottom of the downstairs tub was gross. They need some sort of night lighting downstairs!!! It's very dark at night, and there are several unexpected steps between the bedrooms and the bathroom - major safety hazard! Within walking distance to the central area of the city.
