This is a great hostel! They picked us up from the airport free of charge, the rooms are really nice with free snacks, the location is great - right on the lake, and the breakfast is delicious and free! They also helped us to book trips to Ha Long bay as well as an open bus ticket - which they then gave us a packed lunch for! I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to stay in Hanoi.

Look the room was clean, good breakfast but the lady at the front desk constantly tryin to hustle some type of money out of you. 'Book tour with us' 'we offer you hot shower and leave your luggage here for a few days while you travel' 'where are you going?' 'Have you booked transport' 'have you already paid for the bus', constant ticking in her head how to scam you. It's apparently $1 a kilo for laundry. Mine weighed 2.6,she charged me $6, and it was brown and filthy and missing clothes.

The guy who operates this place actually had us rerouted to his "sister hostel," because of some booking conflict? Anyways, they seemed to be similar-type places. Pretty/fairly clean, friendly staff, wifi, air conditioning and/or fans, so on and so forth. They don't keep your passport but just take a photo copy. Also, the guys who run both of these hostels apparently sleep in the lobby, and so there's kind of an implied curfew? (Or else you come in late and have to wake the guy up.)

VERY GOOD HOSTEL!! The staff was friendly, give us a complementary fruit and tea when arrived at a hostel. The hostel also provide breakfast. We book a tour to Halong Bay with affordable price from them. Room was OK. all electricity works. I booked 4-beds dorm, and yet its located on 6-floor :). I also booked a taxis to the airport for 6-peoples, and they gave us breads and water coz I have to leave hostel at 6 AM!

Oops, I just wrote a review of this place but mistakenly placed my review of some different hostel in Ho Chi Minh City (!) in its place. Anyways, this place was nice. It's tucked away in an alleyway and seems shady, but it's quite nice. Maria was charming and helpful, and the morning staff guys were nice as well.

Best hostel we stayed at all trip! First impression - staff were incredible. Super friendly, genuinely helpful to the point that we were thinking "...so what's the catch" - but there was never any catch! She sat us down and gave us tea and coffee and took us through a map of Hanoi to point out the main attractions and ways to get places. She answered all our questions about tours and cruises (Halong Bay). The room itself was great, despite the long staircase up. Very clean and well kept. So good

The staff were so friendly, and the rooms were far superior to what I was expecting! All transportation and tours can be arranged through the hostel, which makes traveling super easy in Hanoi. Would 100% stay here again!!

Everything was great. Staff is super nice and always ready to help. Only issue was the wifi randomly stopped working sometimes.

Friendly staff, great bang for the buck, but at night it may be a little noisy, but this is all a part of sleeping in the city center of a metropole.

The hostel is located in a great place right next to Hoan Kiem lake which makes exploring the main attractions of Hanoi very easy. The staff were extremely helpful with giving us information about Vietnam. They allowed us to store luggage on our over night trip to Halong bay and even let us come and have breakfast when we returned from Sapa even though we didn't have a booking for that night as we were flying back. Rooms were lovely a very clean. Would recommend this place to anyone!

Such a friendly welcome from the staff and great service throughout. The staff and room were some of the best we saw in a 6 month trip. Great place to stay.

We loved this hostel so much. It's in a really great location right by Hoan Kiem Lake but is also set back from the street so is not too noisy. The staff are brilliant, so helpful and friendly, and our double room was lovely, comfortable and clean. The trip to Halong Bay they organised for us was great. We would definitely stay here again, we felt very welcome and well looked after.

The staff at the hostel was EXCEPTIONAL! They were so friendly and kind. We instantly felt like we had friends in Hanoi! A great breakfast is included, and they also had a New Years party with music food and drinks. This hostel staff made our vacation unforgettable. We LOVE River!

This hostel is wonderful and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious, clean and feel a lot more expensive than what you actually pay for them. Breakfast is also great and a good way to meet other travellers. Staff go out of their way to help you to organise tickets etc. The constant stream of coffee and free fruit is also a good way to save some precious dongs. Highly recommended!

Staff was energetic upon arrival but unhelpful in offering flight recommendations (they were more preoccupied playing video games on the public computers). Also very difficult to wake up to check us out at 6:45am, even though we had warned them the previous night. Rooms were dark, bathrooms were poor, hotel was noisy. The only positive part of the whole experience was the free airport pickup.

Our first stop on a 5 week trip and still think this was one of the best places we stayed. They offered free airport pickup with a private room booking which was sooo nice after flying for 24+ hours. The room was spacious and comfortable. Bathroom was clean and had a tub with curtain, which we later learned is very uncommon! Breakfast was great and staff very friendly and helpful in booking trips. I thought the location was superb, right on Ho Kiem Lake. Overall a great stay.
