It feels more like couchsurfing, however, you have to pay for it....but for one or two nights it is definitely okay! Tian will give you a hand with everything you need (pick up, bus tickets, restaurants........). However, his home is quite far from the city centre (bus and train station approx 45min)...

I really recommend this place! The owner is very kind and helpful. He runs his hostel in his own flat but it's very comfty and great atmosphere there! There is wifi and bus stop close to that place.

Whenever I read reviews that give a 100% rating I have trouble believing they are genuine, but with Luoyang Lujia Hostel I can't bring myself to give it any less. The owner keeps his hostel in impecable condition, and creates a great environment to relax in with beers, views and good humour. The internet connection was fast and always available. This is not the average hostelling experience, Lujia hostel felt like our own home in a lovely neighbourhood for the four days we stayed in Luoyang.

The place was great, a house converted into hostel. The manager is a great and funny guy who helped us in all we needed, even came with us to the bus station to buy the tickets. Sometimes surprised us with a homemade strawberry juice. Wifi works well and only problem is that there is only one bathroom for the several guests.

Tian先生 as we came to know him – as well as his son 龙 – were both excellent hosts. Long came to pick us up when we got dropped off in a weird part of town, which was a great help. Tian was more than happy to help us book tickets and arranged a cab to get to the Shaolin Temple as well as Longtan Valley. The hostel is definitely an experience which for us, made the stay even better than we expected. Definitely recommend this place to anyone who is skeptical.

Its located very far from the city center, 45min by bus. Its more like a home stay, you have to share the combined toilet and bathroom with around 14 people, family + guests. The owner + sun are friendly and helpfull but did not always provide us with correct information, but they try. Its nice to be in a non-touristic area and explore local food and shops, but it is not convenient to travel around and I found it a bit too expensive for a 'home stay'.

The friendliest owner and family I think I've ever met. This place really isn't about money making, they just want to share some love and culture in China and It works! Run by a family with Manchu heritage, who are so warm once you are in their home which is cosy and very clean. A bit out of the city (10 min bus ride) but thefree pickup fruit stalls and luoyang speciality yangrou tang (lamb soup with pancake noodles) nearby are worth it! Can't wait to be back in Luoyang!

This hostel was a totally different experience! It isnt a hostel, but more of a homestay... in the middle of a small suburb in Luoyang. But I really want to say how amazing it was, and how amazing the owner and his son was!!! Both were so hospitable, so lovely, and so amazingly helpful. There is no annoying pressure to buy tours.... instead they provide you with local information about buses and entrance fees and even came with us to the stops to help us arrange tickets! Lovely accommodation!!

It wasn't really the hostel we expected when we booked our room.. but it was great! The owner is the most kind men we met during our trip in China. Always willing to help with everything and made us feel like home. So people if you go to Luoyang, please stay at Jujia Hostel! Best value for money and a wonderfull experience!

Very nice! The hostel owner picked us up from the train station and provided us with all the information and routes we needed to see the sights. As we prepared to go to the Shaolin Temple, he brought us to the bus station where the buses left and arranged for us to be dropped off exactly where we wanted to go! Thank you!

Even though this hostel is a fair way out of town there are a lot of buses to get where you need. The man that runs the hostel is also very friendly and is able to give directions for where you want to go. When we wanted to go to Shaolin temple, he took us to the bus station and helped us get tickets which was a great help. We originally booked a three person room but he upgraded us to nicer rooms for free (we were the only ones there at the time). We enjoyed our stay here.

The main complaint against this hostel is location. It is true that it is removed from most of the sites but the owner will guide you to the bus station and tell you how to get to any location you need to get to. This gets rid of most of the inconvenience of the location. The owner is extremely helpful and nice. As for character it is hard for me to comment, when I was there my buddy and I were the only guests. All told this is a great hostel and you should stay here.

The hostel is very different than any other hostel we`ve ever been to. The staff was absolutely excellent and our stay was very pleasant. However, that said, travelers should know what to expect: this is a Chinese converted flat into a hostel. It can feel very cold sometimes, although heaters are available in the room. If you haven`t experienced the Chinese lifestyle, this will definitely be an eye opener.
