It describes it as 'city centre'. It's not it's 4 train stops away. No atmosphere whatsoever, no commonroom and a bar downstairs that wasn't that cheap and had a bunch of guys on a stag party out the front the whole time I was there. The room wasn't cleaned in 4 days, then when new people came in they were either sleeping in someone else's sheets or with no bedding at all. And they tried to kick me out within 45 minutes of being there cause 3 other guys in my room were removed.

Bar was loud but the kitchen nice and also quiet. Big rooms but pretty average. Very mixed age group. Many of the lockers were broken so bring your own lock. Location is alright; easy to the subway station or about a half hour walk to the fishmarket area. Close to grocery store and restaurants.

Kitchen usage hours should be extended to at least 11 pm in the night.

Fantastic stay, I will def be looking out for meininger hostels in Germany again! The rooms were excellent really clean and well furnished. Small lockers in the hostel and luggage room. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Francisco behind the bar was lovely and really cheap beer. Would def stay again!

More of a hotel than a hostel, but a great place to stay. It doesn't have the same kind of vibe as some hostels do where you can meet people in the common room, but it's really clean and pretty much the same as any hotel except for the fact that there are obviously multiple beds in the rooms. The location was great, right near the Reeperbahn and the Altona S-Bahn station. Facilities were clean, lockers were the same as any hostel. Overall, highly recommended!

The design of the hostel itself is really funky and bright. Our room had enough space for 3 persons to fit comfortably if all you're doing is sleeping there. It's highly recommended to spend your time mostly out and about in the city during the time of your stay. The only bar attached to the Hostel is very small, yet it has a pool table which is a bonus (but also very small). The breakfast dining room, I woud say is the largest part about the entire place. Good thing that it's served for a great

It is i a bit outside the city, but considering that I had a car, it was great with all the free parking around the area. It is also very close to the the U-bahn, that getting to the city was easy. The girls at the front desk were really friendly and helpful.answering all my questions and made pleasant conversation!

Clean, and the place feels almost like a hotel! Dorm beds were comfy, and had curtains to provide some privacy from the other guests. 8-bed dorm had two beds tucked away, and was quite spacious. Highly recommended!

A quite decent hostel. Nothing particular to emphasize or to criticize. Location is good because the u- bahn is like 5 minutes away from the hostel, but the neighboorhod isnt so interesting. More a quiet place to have a good sleep. Plus the staff is really helpfull and nice.

The hostel was clean, with comfortable beds and nice rooms. The hostel is only a few stops from the city centre by underground (takes about 20 mins) and only 2 or 3 stops from the Reeperbahn. The wi-fi worked fine. If you are planning to self cater be aware that the kitchen is very small so be prepared so wait your turn or get there early. The lockers were faulty but the rooms had locks. The breakfast for just under 6 euro is not worth it in my opinion but its decent with a few extra goodies.

Nice hostel, very clean and generally gives a nice impression. You can have a nice breakfast in the morning. If u coming by car it is better to book parking spot om the bottom of hostel, however there are possibilities to park it on the near by streets.
