The hostel was very close to city, about 10 mins train ride. But it was a combination of hostel and hotel. I didn't see any people hanging around the common room and bar for a drink. So it was missing a social atmosphere. But otherwise, very clean hostel, really good breakfast fot €5.90. Highly recommended if travelling with friends.
It was very safe, but I still felt I would have liked to have a locker in the dorm. You have the option to pay for one at the ground floor.
I had great days at this hostel, though maybe a locker at the room would improve sacurity.
I loved the location. I just walked to every point that I wanted to visit. The staff was kind, and the rooms are simply amazing, the beds are comfy, the bathrooms are clean and well designed. The atmosphere is closer to an hotel, although my roommates were cool, so you can meet great people too. I loved Hamburg, and I think that I definitely come back here.
Great hostel, the only thing I did not like was the fact that there were no lockers in the room, but everything was perfect.
The people were extremely friendly and the location was perfect, right next to public transportation. The only downside as with any hostel is after a night at the reeperstreet, the 11 am checkout was rough. They kept our bags right in a locked room. I would recommend staying here .

it's more like a hotel turned hostel. still, the main hall is very welcoming, and the breakfast is quite good for the price (just 6e). staff at the reception very friendly and helpful (Francisco has great tips about what to do and see!). the shared kitchen could use more kitchenware (bowls, spoons and decent knives in particular), though, and the elevator takes forever. other than that it was great!
I only stayed here one night but the impression I had was a good one. Staff was super friendly when I arrived and let me check in early so I could have a shower before my day's appointments and the room/washrooms were very clean. The location was very close to the train station and the neighbourhood appeared to be quite safe ! Only thing that would've made the stay spectacular is lockers in the dorm rooms. If I come back to hamburg for a longer stay I'll be staying at Meininger !
I had good stay. Thanks a lot!

Not great for meeting fellow travelers since this is a hotel, not really a hostel. Very clean. Big windows in room. NO LOCKERS IN THE ROOMS.
This was a really nice hostel/hotel. It definitely felt more like a hotel set up, however it was still easy to meet people in the kitchen (which was well equipped). The rooms were really spacious, new and clean, and the bathrooms were good too. Very close to altona station which made to easy to get around, and also there were bars and places to eat all around. Recommended!
This hostel was very well kept, clean and inviting. Nice kitchen to cook and eat breakfast. Close to a large train station and bus lines.
The location is good - it's a really short walk from a transport interchange, shops and supermarkets and a 15min train from the centre. The wifi works throughout the hostel and the kitchen is sizeable and well equipped. However, if you're looking to meet people, there isn't really a common room.
Nice place to stay in Hambourg. The rooms are nice and spacious! You can find anything that you need in the Hostel (kitchen, wi-fi, information etc). It feels more like an hotel, but it's totally fine ! You can meet people in the kitchen and discuss.
Excellent breakfast! Short metro ride to Hamburg and St. Pauli. Very clean, plenty of storage, friendly atmosphere.
It is definitely one of the best hostels I have stayed in. The staff were very happy hosts for 18 Scottish blokes on a stag, and the price was unbeatable. Really good experience and would definitely go back.

Good hostel, although the size of it causes the atmosphere to be more similar to that of a hotel. Value was decent, although breakfast wasn't included. Just stayed one night to catch an early train. My room was weird as there was a couple sharing a double bed and bunk beds otherwise.
Everything was very clean. The hostel is far from the downtown area, but it is very close to the train station that takes you downtown which is pretty convenient.
No rooms assigned. finding a bed is a free for all.My room, all10 lockers had been broken into and were unusable. drunks outside till 5.30 am and at 6 am the front desk girl comes in with a guest whos bed was being used by someone else. After being basically told too bad, I got up packed my bags and told him to use my bed. I paid for two days stayed one restless night and left without repay to Frankfurt. The downstairs safes have 2 dollar locks and are out of sight of reception. Security is ZERO
The room we've stayed in was very spacious with a nice bathroom. The hostel is close to the station, close to some restaurants and shops. If you feel like going to the city center you gonna have to take a train to there, but its like only 10 minutes away. Staff were helpful and the vibe is okay. I would say more for family than young people.
