Rooms were big and clean. Breakfast was very good , there could be more fruits to offer though. I liked my stay in Meininger Hamburg!

I stayed there during some of the hottest days hamburgs seen in a long time, and it being a green hostel they didn't have any kind of air conditioning. Their bar is also right outside of the front door, so if you're trying to sleep with the windows open because of the heat, you have to put up with the noise from the bar. If it hadn't been so hot it would've been a much better stay
The hostel is really big and quite used to host big groups of persons, so it could be a bit chaotic and noisy. I slept in a mixed dorm and I had to change bed once cause of the previous not so comfortable bed. The second bed was definitely better. A part from this tiny things the hostel is a quite good hostel, with all the facilities and a nice and helpful staff.
It is a nice place to stay during your trip to Hamburg, the staff is very nice and helpful.
Great location! Friendly staff. Close to the Soviet Submarine. Recommend shweinske on the way to the sub.
I had a great stay at the hotel. It is very well located and people working there are very nice. Room and bathroom super clean and confortable!

It felt more like a hostel the only bad part is that there is not to many places to meet people at that hostel.
Location isn't prime. While it is close to a major station there isn't many attractions or good bars around. There were no lockers in the room. Lockers were available in the lobby for free but it was an inconvenience. There's only one elevator so waiting is inevitable. Pretty average hostel otherwise. Bar on the lower level wasn't utilized the weekend I was there. Shower was nice and very clean.
The staff was very professional and friendly, and insured that the atmosphere was nice. There is a guest kitchen that is OK. Rooms could be more dorm adapted (some problems with communal use of lights, power sockets distribuition), but furniture/setting is nice and cheerful.
Very nice, staff exceeded expectations, room was nice, Hamburg was an excellent place to visit.
Great breakfast, helpful staff. Only drawback when you are assigned a top bunker you have to make the bed yourself and it requires acrobatic abilities.
Nice dorms, very clean and spacious. Bit out of the city centre, but only 3/4 stops away on the train which is free. Awesome turkish restaurant right around the corner. Breakfast is bit pricey but worth it. Stayed in a 7 bed mixed dorm which is usually fine, but there were two 60+ year old men staying with 5 girls. Felt very uncomfortable so would not stay here again.
I found there to be a very little atmosphere. This is more a hotel Than a Hostel. Everything was clean and felt quite secure. The location wasn't perfect but there is a train station within a 10 min walk. The bed was comfortable and at the end of the day that's what counts.
A pretty dull place to exist, but if you're getting enough stimulation from the city it's a fine place to sleep. I know hostels can't control the roommates, but I had a very unpleasantly awkward "conversation" with a rather drunk and old German roommate.
Was an alright experience, nothing bad really ;) They accordantly took my reservation card out of my bead so I lost it, but other than that no real problems. HOWEVER, it says "City Centre" but it is lying. It is actually technically in Altona, and quite the ways walk to get to the real city centre.
It's a very clean and safe hostel, but could be better located.
The room itself was huge, we were in a 6 person mixed dorm, and it felt more like a hotel room. Lockers in the room but you need your own padlock. Bathroom fine, only drawback was the tap had to be pushed in every 15 seconds or so for continuous water in the shower. Have to catch the train into the main part of town but the station is very close so not much of a hassle. Very isolating though, not much of a common room area.
