Normal enough Meininger Hostel really, staff were pretty churlish for some reason, the woman at reception almost went blind rolling her eyes, and made checking in seem like I had asked her to personally give me a sponge bath or something but apart from that it was reasonable. Very cheap, location could have been better, but spic and span

Amazing hostel with brand new facilities and one of the best showers I've had in a hostel ever. Would definitely recommend it.

Fantastic stay. Hostel was clean, staff was friendly, location was very close to the Bahn so it was very easy to get around. I would definitely recommend coming here for anyone planning to visit Hamburg.

The best thing was was a good madress. The worst was tasty but expensive (5.9€) breakfast and the thing that they told us to wait 7hours to get to our recervated beds in mixed dorm, after complaining again we could get there in five hours. Usually such tings can be arranged in a shorter time. After complaining the female reseptionists were pretty rude but male very nice. Also a male receptionist returned our payment for one night when checking out, even it the overpayment was our mistake :)

I stayed in a female dorm and I found it very good. The room is clean and organised. Each bed has its own lamp, which is very helpful when you don't want to disturb others. Staff is friendly.

Stayed in the 10 bed room 201. This room had a room within a room (8 bunks outside 2 in side) and stayed in the smaller 2 bunk room which was really private. Area is a bit a way from the city center but convenient via s-bahn. Breakfast was good. Rooms & bathrooms were clean and well kept. Lockers are in the room but require locks, though some have broken latches. Decent place and a good value.

Lockers inside the room did not work, so you could not lock your personal stuff safely. It will be also good to provide towels and check light in the bed lamp regularly. Ours did not work. We got new one, but we had to change it ourselves. Public transport is very close but for those who prefer walking it is a little bit far away from the city centre. It would be nice if the staff would offer more services, not only breakfast and introduce facilities and clean dust in the lockers.

I stayed in a dormitory. It was very clean and nice. There were double-bank beds, each bed had a personal night light and curtains. Very nice. The kitchen is quite small... there were usually quite a lot of people. the location is good, not far from centre.

The price/quality ratio is probably unbeatable, the location is perfect (with Altona station only two minutes away) the staff was very friendly, even though I kept asking questions and I even tried to speak in my horrible German, but they didn't seem to mind. The breakfast buffet is very well priced too, and you have the kitchen equipped with microwave, kettle, coffee machine, laundry machine, drier, absolutely felt like being at my own kitchen back home. I have no complaints!

Only one bathroom and toilet for a room of 10 beds. Wifi only worked on the first day. Electric outlets strangely only worked at night, and in the morning only those in the toilet worked. They cleaned the room every day, but did not make reports when they found bottles of consumed alcoholic beverage in the room. Notice in the room said we could borrow towels but it's for a price. Hot shower and heater worked pretty well. You have the things for basic survival, but nothing more.

The staff was not very informative on what to do around the city; would've been nice if they give you a map and a few sights to see up front. Also would have been nice if the breakfast was included. Overall, was a decent place to stay.

The hostel is right near to Hamburg Altona rail station, so we reached it in a minute. We arrived in the night but we didn't have any problem as there is 24h reception and the linen were already on the bed. The staff is very kind.
