It was supposed to be kind of a hotel room but it really was more like a hostel. Breakfast was quite expensive (6,90 eur) and it did not even include anything warm than coffee..
Very clean with a very friendly, helpful staff. Not close to the city center, but the bus stop is a three minute walk away.

Staff are good, rooms are pretty much brand new and they feel new. Bathroom was nice and new. The kitchen is also now brand new, we got there and they said the kitchen would be closed the next day which was a bit of a bummer, but now the kitchen is nice and shiny and new. Would stay here again, transport is easy to Salzburg HBF by bus number 2 (which is directly across the road) or train which is about a 10 min walk.
Great stay, cleanest and newest so far, been travelling Europe 2 months now. Would recommend highly, great kitchen and room are quiet and spacious!
Meininger Salzburg was a bit out of the city centre, but is easy to get to by bus. The facilities were very clean and the room was actually like a hotel! The downside is that it is hard to meet people as a solo traveller as there are no communal areas
The staff were very friendly, the room had a good vibe and we were pleasantly surprised to find a shower and toilet within our dormroom. Located very close to public transport, which finished around midnight or before most nights. However, we could have walked home in about 20 minutes if we had a map.
20 minute walk to center of city- not too far. Bus stop right out front. Nice kitchen. Clean rooms, comfy beds. Staff mostly helpful. Cool walking trails right behind hostel. Wifi worked well. More hotel then hostel feeling but good! Grocery store right across the street. Would stay here again.
I would definately recommend the hostel. I just spent the night there so I didn´t get any insight into the "hostel life". It is more a Hotel with additional Dorms. I only have one improvement proposal: The shower head in she shower was really bad, there was only Little water coming out with no pressuere wich led to a longer showering time in the morning, which is really annoying if there are several People wanting to shower and start their day. So just get new shower heads :)
Though Meininger is a big chain, I really recommend this place because of its super friendly staff, the modern and clean atmosphere and because it is well connected to the public transport network of Salzburg. I'll definitely come back! :)
Great hostel, a little further removed from the city center.

just a bit expensive compared with the one in Wien
This was a great place. We stayed in a 6 bed dorm and the rooms were huge. Plenty of room for luggage and lockers under the bunks. However, You need a lock that's quite big to fill the lock hole or you can just lift the paddle lock and it will open. We just put all our valuables in one and put two locks on. Separate shower and toilet was great with free soap. Is a little bit out of the city centre. But the bus stops almost out front, making travel into town easy. Would stay here again.
It takes about 30 min to the center . Easy to find . Very clean and comfortable room.
I can't say too much about this hostel for I only stayed one night as a layover. But the staff was extremely friendly in helping us find where we needed to go the next day. The breakfast they offer was a reasonable price with loads of options. The rooms were very large and very very clean! I would love to come back and stay at this hostel. it has great vibes!
Overall is great. Will definitely stay there if I go to Salzburg again. Just to point out some problems: you need a better exhaust in your toilet. =/
This place is huge. Definitely more of a hotel feel. Very clean, helpful staff. There is a grocery store across the street which was very convenient too. Not very close to the main attractions/sights. Large communal and bar area but there was a young school group that took up the majority of the space when I was there, not the hostels fault of course, just a bit annoying. I would look for somewhere closer to the city next time but still recommend this place.
I stayed for 2 nights around new year. I payed 26.5 Euro for one night, and 40 Euro for the other. The rooms are well decorated. It looks like the rooms were hotel rooms before. Shower and toilet are separated. There is guest kitchen, but it is a little messy. There are two computers in common area, but they charge people for using it. I needed to book train tickets, but I hate to pay for using the computer, so I just walked to the train station to buy my tickets.
Very hotel like--lacked the fun interactive atmosphere of a hostel. There were a lot of couples traveling through there.
They staffs are very kind and helpful. In the first night there were a bunch of very rude and annoying people in the dormitory. They talked loudly at midnight. Fortunately the staff changed our beds to another dorm, which avoided a ruined holiday. Besides, the hotel is generally good, there are a lot of tourism information can be got from the reception desk,
