Hostel was very clean, like new. Although a little out of town center, on bus takes about 15-20 minutes. Satisfied for what we paid.

The room was not ready at 3pm when we checked in and they didn't tell us it was not ready, we had to walk into a dirty room.

I had stayed in a 6 bed dorm, and the room was pretty big. The showers and toilets in the room were kept clean, and the beds were comfortable. The reception is kind as well, wich gave the good impression of the place. Although Meininger Salzburg may be located at a place out of a map you would be given at the tourist information centers, the location isn't actually that bad since the busses can take you either into the central part of the city, or directly to the station and the airport.

I didn't like that I had to pay 5 euro for breakfast and an extra 4 for coffee, but overall the room I stayed in was nice, clean and quiet.

Otherwise this hotel was pretty good (and breakfast was very good) but at the time we were in hotel there was a group of youngsters who made horrible noise so we could not sleep. Hotel staff reacted immediately when we complained about the issue.

A bit out of the old town, but easy access by bus. Hotel is great. Twin rooms have balconies, are spacious and spotless. The communal kitchen is a bit small and cramped, but fortunately not many people use it.

This is really a hotel that converted a few rooms into dorms, which is good news for a backpacker. The room was very clean and spacious, and even had a TV! The shower/bathroom was fantastic (hotel quality shower), and they even provided towels free of charge. The kitchen was great to use, especially since there are cheap grocery stores close by. It was about a 15-20 min walk into town, which is nothing in a nice town (weighs out paying more to be closer). Very secure with good lockers.

Good large hostel, about 15 minute walk to old town. Rooms were large, clean and bright and all the furnishings are very new. No problems staying here again.

We weren't too happy with the location as its quite a far walk from the city centre. I wasn't very impressed with the wi fi connectivity either. Another thing, I was stuck in the elevator which kept halting between levels and when I made the staff aware of this I was ignored until yet another person had to complain. The entire building was hot with little air to breath. The laundry powder was very expensive for the fact that the washing machine only half-washed our clothes.

Fairly easy to get to, 15 mins bus ride from station. Very clean and friendly, huge lounge area. Only real downside is having to pay for computer access ( other than hostel world and train times)

Super clean hostel. Some people claimed the walk to old town was far, but the walk was only 10-15 minutes tops! Lots of tables, chairs, and lounging area. Not a huge in house bar scene like Wombats but sometimes you need a break from that. In general, very impressed with the hostel and would probably book with this chain again!

This was more of a hotel than a hostel so very good value for money. The facilities were fabulous, the bathrooms and toilets new and squeaky clean and the staff were very helpful. It is a good 15 -20 minutes walk away from the old town but for the service w received, I wouldn't complain about that at all. It would be good for the hostel website to have clearer instructions on how to get there from the airport.

we stayed only one night here in a 6 bed female dorm (ensuite). the hostel is a very big complex. so u dont feel at home butmore of at a commercial place. its a bit far from the city. but in salzburg you can easily manage everything on walk. breakfast is charged :(,but an unusal thing is it has television in the room. its good to spend a night in this hostel

Had a very good stay and would stay there again. The walk into the old part of town is about 20 minutes and it is a safe walk. The immediate neighborhood isn\'t interesting but I hadn\'t planned to spend my time there anyway. Staff was great and answered lots of questions, the room was comfortable and clean (and it was possible to open the windows!), and they toilet room being seoerate from the shower room ensuite is an excellent design. Breakfast was good. I was able to use the washer/dryer.

Very nice for hostel accommodation - spaecy downstairs area with free wifi, hostel rooms also big and airy with the bonus of modern en suite. Is a bit of a trek from town but can easily get there on a bus from the station in 10 minutes.

Our family of 4 spent one night at the hotel. It was really nice, mellow atmosphere and guests of all ages, enjoyed watching the Sound of Music in the bar. Super clean, comfortable beds, quiet. It is in the outskirts, so not many restaurant choices or shops nearby. I would definitely book at a Meininger again.
