We actually got moved to MarcoPolo Suites before we arrived. Did not enjoy Suites - room was nice, but too hot and impossible to cool properly. Walls were paper thin so could hear even the quiet conversations of our neighbours on both sides. Bedrooms linked to reception bar area by non-carpeted passage with no intervening door, so every noise from reception could be clearly heard through bedroom door. Had to drape spare duvet against door in attempt to muffle noise. Would not stay here again.

Great and kind staff. Like that's a but removed from the bust and touristy center. Awesome that's so close to two wonderful restaurants in el calafate.

The hostel feels like a big warehouse and lacks character. When we checked into the hostel, the guy working at the counter tried charging us more than what we were quoted for on HostelWorld and then we were quoted the correct price later when his manager was around - very shady! The common area is clean and nice (as well as the dorm rooms) but the kitchen was very sparse and dirty - almost unusable. Breakfast was decent and lockers were in the dorms, which we liked. That's about it though!

I stayed in a three bed ensuite dorm and it was good. The internet was down for the entire time I was there (two nights) although we were able to use the wifi at marcopolo suites. The location is closer than it looks on the map. The kitchen could do with more equipment.

The wifi/internet did not work because the hotel had recently reopened and the service had not been activated it yet. . However that fact was NOT mentioned on the facilities page of the hostel on HW. We were allowed though to use the wifi at it's sister hotel, a 5 minute walk away.

We paId upfront in cash as requested, only to find on checkout that our payment was not entered at the time and as there was no receipt provided, it seemed like we hadn't paid! Also the toilet kept blocking. It was very hard to find thus hostel as it was a different place to what we booked at, and not very central. However if you are looking for hotel style accommodation at a reasonable price for calafate, this place is ok.

Excellent hostel - it actually looks like a hotel. Only drawback is its location, a little far from the main street.

We were very disappointed when we got to know that the Marco Polo Inn, as described on Hostelworld, has not been opened yet. It seems like it is closed for renovation. All guests are redirected to Marco Polo Suites, about 1km away. We were lucky, as we've arrived there in the middle of the day and we met a guy who told us. Otherwise we wouldn't have known where to go. The Marco Polo Suites cannot be compared to Marco Polo Inn (it's an ex-Best Western Motel rather than the yellow Posada-hostel).
