Such a gem of a place. The staff are the most friendly and helpful people in Taipei, am sure! They go the extra mile and even bought us our train tickets, so so helpful. It is spotlessly clean, very secure and only 10 minute walk to the MTR and TRA station. I would recommend this hostel to everyone and will definitely stay only here whenever I am in taipei :)

The owner at May's Rooms was very kind and gracious. She helped me plan my itinerary and suggested fun and interesting places to visit in Taiwan. I enjoyed my stay very much and would certainly stay there again next time I visit Taiwan.

My friend and I stayed in a Private Double Room for 2 nights. We arrived a bit later than we'd have liked but the hostel had no problems waiting outside of their normal service hours once informed. Room was clean, bed was sufficient size and facilities provided were great. The staff were EXTREMELY friendly (almost to a fault!) and were able to help out in several ways. The location is a bit out from tourist hotspots but the very cheap cost and the hostel's condition more than make up for it.

Location is far from major attractions, 8mins walk from MTR Nangang Station though. The place is very small but nice, the dormitory is crawded 10 to a room, beds in line seems like a Chinese legion. It can be a bit noisy at night with people coming in and out the room. The bathroon is small and shared mixed male and female. For some misterious reason, the place attracts cool people,so although small and not even having a decent lobby area, the atmosphere is very nice. Staff performance is good

GREAT Hostel! Very friendly staff (helpful with any info), clean and affordable. Met some great people there and its location is in a quiet area of Taipei, but very accessible with the subway. No problems (stayed in a private) with anything. Will stay there next time on my return to Taipei! Thank you so much for all your help May Rooms.

I got an EXCELENT service, staff, cleanliness, Value for money, facilities... is one of the best hostels I have been. They deserve more. But if you want to make party then better you go to other places close to night market.. Is a pearl in Taipei. Glad to be part of it for few days. I have been traveling for the last 18 years visiting 181 countries..and I could tell you that I have experienced a lot with hostels..and this one is one of the best. Cheers.

This was the best hostel I've been to so far. Very clean and nice rooms that weren't cramped or smelly/old. The staff were nice and personable, making me feel like I was staying at someone's house as a guest. They even mailed me my sandals after I left them behind! It was quiet when I went in winter but I think throughout the year this hostel is very suitable for budget business travelers and others who prefer a clean and quiet atmosphere.

I really appreciated the way the staff were able to solve any/all little problems I had. Like when I asked where there was a public phone because my cell phone battery had died, they quickly offered the hostel phone for me to use for no charge. When I said I'd like a place to do my morning stretching exercises, they found me one. And it really is super clean!

Very friendly. And what ever I ask for, they will give suggestion perfectly! Really relaxing siting at the back door there with wonderful decoration while having a cup of hot tea under a cold weather night. Feels like I was at somewhere full of freedom! If I ever rich enough, I would definately buy a house next to it!

We had trouble sleeping in the double bed private room with a window due to the car/bus noise from the street. However, it is a nice and friendly hostel if you don't mind the limited room space and noise from the street. Their rooms without a window might be quiet, but we prefer a room with a window.

May Rooms offer an excellent environment for backpackers. The host and staff are very friendly, they are more than happy to share you good place to go. The rooms are spacious and clean. At night, guest will gather in the pantry sharing food together. During day time, I love to stay in the public area to spend my time talking with other guests. For sure I will come back to May Rooms if I go Taipei again :D

This hostel was a wonderful little gem. While the location was not ideal, it was easy enough to get to the town and the sights by subway, the station being located around 5 minutes' walk away. And the helpfulness of the owners was priceless - they helped us hiring a car and provided valuable advice. The hostel itself is very cute and cozy, and makes for a great place to relax after a ay exploring Taiwan's capital.
