The hostel was easily the best hostel I stayed in during my 3 month trip, however one detail was incredibly annoying. The key system. Several times I got out of the shower, only to find my room locked because "the last person had left." The elevator is the slowest in the world, so having to continuously go up and down to get the key got pretty frustrating. There needs to be a better system put in place as it was ridiculous. Other than that, fantastic hostel, and wonderful staff.

Good hostel however in my opinion, not as good as Hipo. It's newer, bigger and cleaner however lacks some of the character that Hipo has. Great events and helpful staff makes this still a great hostel to stay in.

Avenue is a great hostel, I stayed in the private room and it was comparable to a hotel, the atmosphere of both avenue and hipo is great, good party good people. Unfortunately I got moved over to Hipo and stuck right beside the porn theatre.. Honestly, heavily drunk, door closed, windows shut, ear plug in ear, pillow on my head,. And STILL I was kept up all night by violent loud porn... Sounds fun and all until u can't sleep for ur 3rd consequtive night

We stayed in BsAs for ten days a just booked more time at Milhouse! It has a really good location near the metro links and we ended up walking to most of the sights anyway. The staff are so happy to help - Mel and Pau are both amazing and will do anything for you, they have a really good knowledge of the area and happy to help book things with you. The hostel also had events on everyday which is really good but sometimes the travel agency next door is a bit more pricey than other places.

Good location, good facilities, loaded with activities for travellers, great atmosphere and awesome, friendly staff. Milhouse has lived up to my expectations :) The only comment I have is about the use of airconditioning - i wish it was free of charge especially on hot, summer Buenos Aires nights!

This is how a hostel should run. Awesome job all round!! If you have the choice I preferred Hipo over Avenue.

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE No PRACTICAL wi-fi. Zero signal in rooms, only busy distracting reception area had it. With numerous urgent flights/onward hotels to book, was a huge inconvenience and it RUINED my stay in Buenos Aires. Communal PC´s slow/unusable. Terrible rooms, unsecure. Bar closed early. 15 min wait for a beer - thought this was a party hostel!! I checked out 2 days early, 0% refund offered by uncompassionte staff ("rules are rules" attitude), checked into a better hostel.

good party hostel in a great location in centre of downtown Buenos Aires. 8 bed dorm was basic enough. no individual lights or shelves and a shortage of plug sockets. esnuite bathroom helped. decent kitchen to cook in. good parties and trips organised

Had a great time! It's perfect if you want to join in on the huge variety of activities the hostel offers, of if you just want to do your own thing. Really helpful staff and great location on Av. de Mayo, easy to get the Subte to Palermo, or to get the bus to La Boca and San Telmo. Not too far from the Retiro bus station either, by bus or Subte.

clean, good beds and friendly staff. But it was too big and impersonal, making it harder to meet lots of people and for the staff to care about you much. Was very disappointed with the 'big parties' which were small beside Friday and Saturday. Staff did not remember your name and worse made little effort to advise about the city. We became wary of 'Milhouse recommendations', which twice led us to bland and expensive restaurants rather than cheap authentic places. Very disappointed given ratings.

Could not believe I was staying in a hostel! Stayed in a private room and it felt like a hotel. Met plenty of people because it had a great common room and plenty of events

Although we are not party people, the atmosphere at milhouse is great. It's really easy to meet people and the common areas are always busy. The rooms are big and airy with good clean bathrooms. Only a couple of minor things, the door to the luggage room doesn't lock, the smoking downstairs where people cook and eat wasn't great and a communal lighter to actually be able to make use of the cooker would be good!! Other than that we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it :)
