This hostel is special because of the staff, Sophie and Ting. But, once you know where you are, you discover how well located it is.
The beds are horrible. The doors sometimes beep for no apparent reason which is particularly annoying if someone wants to go to the bathrooms during the night. However, the staff is super friendly and helpful. They gave us umbrellas, lent us a city map, and wrote down how to get to bus stations and so on, incl. how many stops. Not suitable for people who are allergic to cats or dogs because there were 3 dogs and a few adorable kittens. :-)
very easy to find the hotel. U can see the logo from main street (but it's a bit noisy and dusty coz close to main street). It also only 3 bus stops from Suzhou train station. U can relaxing in shantang canal Small garden, cafe and sitting place terace are the best feature the staf was very friendly and helpful of showing direction - the mattress was terrible..VERY thin and hard. The locker couldn't be locked.
Good for access to train station and the old streets. Not so good for comfort, the whole place smells of animals who seem to treat the whole place as a toilet. Takes a long time for animal mess to be cleaned up. Staff generally seemed helpful when you could find them and drag them away from their computer games. Had to wait 25 minutes for staff to appear so I could check out, despite calling the desk and knocking on doors looking for them.
Nice Hostel: friendly, english speaking staff. Bar right outside the hostel. Loved the little restaurants across the street. Bathrooms are a little bit small, they are 1,5x1,5 toilets with shower. My four bed dorm was quite small too, but had an AC.
A really cozy hostel with good location! Although not recommended if you have allergies against fur animals due to many animals inside; if not than its a contributing factor for the atmosphere!:) The staff have good language skills, compared to other hostels in China.
One word. Cats. You get to hang around cuddly adorable cats during your stay. Which I would say beats every other hostel in suzhou. It's a little out of the city but it's well worth it the second you walk in. Comfortable couches. Awesome bar to hang out. Overall a really fun with me and my group. Will definitely stay again.

It's kinda nice, but it was all empty! I was there on a Friday and there was literally no-one to socialise with. Luckily there are good expat bars in Suzhou in Zone 1914, but that's a bit far from the hostel.
Wonderful location, wonderful friends i have met. Very close to the train station, less than 10 mins by taxi, very close to the ShanTang Street, less than 1 min by feet. Anyway, if they have a drier it will be better!
It is nice place with good atmosphere. The problem is it seems time stopped there.Dust and spiders are part of the room.they offer briliant breakfest but we were obviously unlucky as for 2 days we did not meet the cook.
Great place with a very cool vibe. We loved the free nightly activities which brought everyone together. A big thanks to Rachel (staff) for being so bubbly and fun.
Great location but not so clean and organised
The bathrooms were cleaner than I expected, though the air conditioner did drip water a bit. The beds were comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helped me find my way around Suzhou and plan my trip. I would ask that the hostel staff remind guests checking in late to not disturb other guests who might be asleep. Also, if you dislike or are allergic to animals, please note there are two mild dogs and two cats which hang around the lobby.
We stayed in this hostel for three nights and the room was never cleaned. The showers had no curtains so the soap and water just splashed around in the bathroom for the duration of our visit. We were not even provided with a squeezer to clean it ourselves. Toilet paper and soap was not provided and only one towel was given. You have to wash the clothes yourself and then go on the roof where you place them on some bricks to dry. Whenever we tried to order breakfast we were always declined service
Showers are too small - the air in there is not good and it is way too hot in there.

Traditional chinese house and decoration are highly recommended. But the cleanliness and facilities in the room should be improved.
Interesting place to stay - it's a historic villa with courtyards - not enough wifi, perhaps if it could extend to outside the lobby in the terrace area. Loved the open air movie screen though lots of mosquitos.
Small and comfy, perfect location, very close to shantang road, alot of things to see and to eat.
- good value for money but the bed rooms and facilities definetly need a do-over - friendly staff
