Very welcoming on arrival (even though we arrived late), nice bar, decent rooms, very pleasant stay. Food wasn't too great but the vast selection of imported beers made up for that! Gorgeous kittens, scabby dogs.

Quite a good hostel with convenient location. 4 dogs and 4 cats immensely add to cuteness:) Pros: there's kitchen and a bar, and wi-fi works on the second floor where the dorms are. Staff speaks English. Cons: there isn't any coffee in the morning! How is that even possible?? Beds are tough, true. And one member of the staff gave me wrong directions for the bus twice (!), so that in the end I would be better off walking to my destinations as it would be faster and less confusing..

Nice location, right next to one of the top streets in Suzhou. Room was okay, just looked as though nobody had ever bothered cleaning underneath the beds. Nice staff, and they offer pretty good food too.

Great hostel, one of the most beautiful I've been in. However it's a bit far from the main attractions, although it being close to the railway station is rather convenient.

Although I am living in the four-men dormitory, I still think that the bedrooms could be better. The bunk beds seem to be unstable and creak every time when there is any movement. Also, the access card for room 209 is not functioning well everyday. I personally think that one of the bosses who is often seen lingering around with his ipad could be friendlier to help. However, the young staffs are always willing to assist travellers in every way..

I have stayed at many hostels around the world, and this one is very unique. I felt like I was stepping back in time and staying in a truly historic Chinese courtyard home. The staff was very helpful, and the facilities were gorgeous. A little difficult to find though, and the bed was very hard. Overall: charming.

Very nice hostel. Friendly and helpful staff. The atmosphere is very likely. I think it wasn't the last time that I was there. :-)

I really enjoyed my stay at the Ming Han Tang International Youth Hostel, especially for the excellent location. Easy to join and to enjoy. Staff was more then helpful.

We had a nice time in the hostel. The rooms were clean even if the mattresses were really small. The shared bathrooms were not so clean and stinky. But the personal is very helpful and the restaurant environment very pretty. The hostel is very close (5 minutes walking) to the beautiful canals of Suzhou.

The only thing bad thing was the toilets, there were very dirty... It's not so pleasant. But all the rest was really perfect!

Everything was descent there but when we got to the hostel there was a mixup and the hostel and we got a 3bed room instead of the double room that we ordered. They charged us the same amount and didn't offer a consolation. Except of that, the 49cafe near by is pretty nice and gives 20%off for guests of the hostel.

It was an unpleasant experience, the staff barely speaks english, it was good i spoke chinese and we could understand each other, the room looked nothing like the pictures, there were construction sites all over the place, it was so noisy and there were heaving machinery shaking the walls all night. It was a mistake sitting here, i did only cause i was hoping i'll meet more foreigners as i was traveling alone, but there was nobody there.

The staff are really helpful with advice. They take their time and really try to help. The only real criticism is that the toilets could do with a good clean and maybe the showers too. It might be worth considering whether free toilet paper could maybe be provided, as it often is in other Chinese hostels. But the human angle trumps all others - for me. There the Sunflower is one of the best I've encountered anywhere in a famously helpful China.

The staff was very helpful and kind. They helped us plan how to get to everywhere around the city and put up with our lackluster Chinese. The shared showers were decent. They shared the same room (no separation) with the 4 western toilettes in the building so the toilette seats were always wet. The downstairs bathrooms were very dirty but you didn't have to use them. The beds, like many hostels in China, were no more than wooden planks with mattress pad but you couldnt beat it for the price.

Great hostel, staff and location. The hostel has a beautiful place for hanging out and the breakfasts are good. It is close to a busy 'old style' street by one of the canals and market. Between walking distance or easy access by bus to many other locations and the Rail and bus stations. Only mild discomfort was brought by the showers, the pressure wasn't great and if everyone is using them they run out of hot water (never becoming freezing though). Do not let this refrain you, great hostel.
