The location and the hostel itself were great! Concerning the guided tour to the rice teraces :DO NOT take it! The ladies from the reception will hardly recommend of it, but it's a waste of money. You can do it by yourselves. The english-speaker guide wasn't understandable, and there is no chance to walk to the villages.

Really nice and helpful staff, Breakfast is good but tankes very much time for them to prepare (although it is just scrambeled egg and toast), on request I didn't get coffee because they were to busy.

This is the best choice you can make for a budget hostel with a value as a 3 star hotel. Its very nice located just a step away from the old city. All interesting places are in walkable distance. The rooms are spacious and very new. They have a good taste of decoration and interior. Bathroom is huge and clean. On each floor you can use a hairdryer for free and WiFi is almost available everywhere, definitely in the lobby and rooftop and even in the rooms (depends on your room location :)

Easy directions from the train station, and a really nice location down a quiet street, near the river & between Elephant Trunk Hill and Folded Brocade Hill.

I only used this as a stop-over because I arrived in Guilin late at night. The staff were helpful and knowledgeable and the rooms were very clean and secure. It takes a while to reach the hostel from the train station and when I arrived the hostel seemed quiet.

I stayed on 5th floor and that was of little inconvenient as there wasn't a lift. The bathroom's door made a noise. The window in room had no mosquito net. Except these trivial things, everything from the design, to interior design and atmosphere, to kind staffs was just good enough to be amazed. Strongly recommend.

Staff were friendly however they weren't very knowledgeable about the local area. For example we were given wrong directions and bus numbers which was a bit time wasting
