I expected more from this place. The room was ok, but the smell in the bathroom was overwhelmingly disgusting. No one cleaned the room or changed the towels during my stay. I doubt that it was cleaned before I moved in. Staff at the reception showed no smile - ever. They seemed to be bothered by questions.

We had a great stay here, and would recommend it to basically anyone in Nanjing. It was cold in our room, and the air conditioner was to loud to have on while sleeping, but that was the only complaint! the Staff we great, food was basic but tasty, and the metro is a nice short walk and close to the city center areas and tourist areas. Thanks for an awesome experience!

Hostel location is good, 10 minutes from the metro station and close to 1912 area. The common room was nice and cozy, with comfy sofas, books etc, but kinda cold in winter (door doesn't close completely); food and drinks are really expensive and service was super slow. The room was cold too, but the ac was simply too noisy to keep it on during the night (noise level: airplane landing). Sheets were clean, lockers and bathroom broken but somehow functioning. Cheap, but only ok for one night.

Location is not great—walking to/from nearest subway station is not fun, especially carrying luggage. Ended up taxiing pretty much everywhere. However, it does happen to be right next door to "Words" bar which is pretty lively and fun. Inside was nice. "Loft" area with 27 bunk beds was kind of fun. All wood, not those rickety metal beds some places have. Very limited privacy. Cold if you go in winter. Downstairs coffee shop area was also good if pricey.

Staff is nice but the hostel is cold during winter. The bar is very expensive compare to room price: so no one is consuming, so the living room is not living at all. For example coffee is the same price (maybe more expensive) than starbucks but the area is not as comfortable than starbucks. Even tea is at 15 or 20 RMB.... You should maybe try to price more accurate your items. Lastly, the 30 people room is not really friendly...

I was not very impressed with this hostel. The desk manager was rather rude and the cleanliness was poor. The location was decent, but I wouldn't recommend staying here.

I enjoyed my stay, however: The dorm room was way too cold; it was difficult to sleep. The internet connection was quite poor especially in the dorm room. House food very expensive. The staff were pleasant, helpful, with a good level of English. The hostel is quirky and visually pleasant. The hostel is also in a very good location with convenience shops, restaurants, main town, clubs and transport all within a 2-15 minutes walk.

They located in a small alley, which give them a very quite environment. On the contrary, to take a taxi is not so easy. But the hostel is near to Subway and many scenic spots. And the staff there is so nice and food is good also. Really recommend to stay here.

The common room/bar/cafe is nice, the sheets are clean, lockers are provided. The dorm smells, beds are sometimes hard to find, people eat and talk in the dorm at 4AM. The bathroom floor was always wet and the place stinks. No toilet paper, you have to bring your own. The staff is neither friendly nor offers any tips for sightseeing or bars, might be due to poor English. Location is ok, but not perfect. It is acceptable for one night, wouldn't stay there longer.

good points - location - friendly bar next door - cheap bad points - ALAN, the rudest hostel worker I've every met. Can't believe he hasnt been fired. Single handedly ruined our stay - no food for two days because the chef was on vacation - no tissue in the toilets or towels - freezing cold as the staff kept all the doors open (during winter!) - blood stained sheets - barely warm showers in winter - nails protruding from a ceiling beam above my head whilst sleeping on the top bunk - Alan

Great location not far from a Subway line. Lots of little restaurants and a supermarket in the vicinity. The feeling of the main living room area is pretty cool, too.

A lovely hostel in a converted old Nanjing building and in a convenient location to get around Nanjing by metro. There's also a great neighbourhood surrounding it with small local streets filled with restaurants and shops. The staff were very helpful, and the cafe/bar area is warm, welcoming and reasonably priced. Rooms were affordable and comfortable. A great example of how a hostel should be.

Not for winter! The upstairs loft was truly freezing at night (like, wear 2 coats under 2 quilts but still shiver all night). I'm sure in warm weather this place would be lovely: Great lounge, friendly staff, a rooftop patio, and cute dog. Most guests were domestic Chinese travelers, so foreigners may find it harder to make social connections here.

The atmosphere was good! But the price of food and drink in the common room were a bit pricey. There was only one shower room in the ground floor and the doors are made of glass. Sometimes you can see the shadow of people taking shower inside so it's a bit creepy, but no bit deal.

Good food and good location. Air-con/heating units are quite noisy.

I liked the hostel and would stay there again. The staff were helpful and friendly. The 8 bed dorm with ensuite was good with a large bathroom, lockers, and each bed had a power plug and light. Don't go to Nanjing on a Monday because many of the major sites are closed.

Stayed in the huge dorm in the loft. Beds were comfy and sheets clean though a bit draughty as is in the roof. Bathrooms were not clean, lots of hair on the floors, full bins and generally very dirty. Hostel also a bit difficult to find initially but fairly close to the subway and bars a restaurants. Downstairs area was nice and the breakfast was good. For a budget hostel, not bad value for money. I only stayed 1 night as a short trip in Nanjing but would not stay here for more than 1 night.
