The hostel has a nice atmosphere, and the reception doubles as a coffee-shop, which I must admit serves some excellent coffee. And I am picky about my coffee! I stayed in the dorms, which has AC running 24/7, is spatious and best of all: Has a huge locker where you can stash your backpack/suitcase as well as any random stuff you've got lying around. This contributes to the room being very tidy and clean. The bed also has a little shelf, a light and a power outlet. Everything you need!
great, clean hostel, really helpful and joyful staff. not a hostel to spend the day / evening relaxing but it is easy to meet people here.
Perfect location. Staff exceptionally helpful. Cafe a good place to sit. Rooms and showers very good. Perhaps allow some cold air from cafe into common rooM. Thanks
I can't say enough good about this place. The ladies in the cafe are just dolls. They are so kind and thoughtful. For many popular locations they already have the names printed up in both Thai & English for taxis. They will also tell you about how much to pay for the trip so you can better negotiate with tuk-tuks. The location is within walking distance to many locations. They also have great lockers that are large enough to hold great full backpacks! Also-western breakfasts& lattes

AMAZING hostel. 15-20 minute walk to Khao San Road. Quite a central location. Amazing, clean facilities. Beautifully kept hostel. Truly lived up to the 'cultural hostel' title. Great cafe out front. Great places to eat just outside hostel. Great social area to watch movies and chill out. Private washrooms for each dorm. Helpful, english-speaking staff. Would love to go back.
I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay in Bangkok. The staff here is amazing and love providing their guests with recommendations on what to do and what to see. They even have pre-made slips of paper that have directions to different sites written in Thai for the taxi drivers. I can't say enough about the staff at Niras. The property itself is also amazing and has a few common areas that are great for meeting people. I highly recommend staying here.
The staff was really helpful, always suggesting things to do, places to go and asking if they could help anywhere. The location is close by the main places you would like to go in Bangkok, like the grand palace, but also the main shopping streets. The rooms were clean and nice, the breakfast was good (could be a bit more varied though) and the atmosphere was nice and relaxed. Only con is that a bit more airco in the TV-room would be nice, but other than that perfect!

Awesome place to stay if you want to relax :) It's a bit up price but definitely worth every penny. Staff is lovely and helpful, facilities clean, in the dorms you have your own locker which is so big, that you can fit your backpack in :) AC in dorms Missing is only a computer that everyone could use.
The place was really good, the rooms and toilet very clean and the staff was good too. It's close from the "night street". It was a place when I met a lot of amazing people, so it's a excellent place for who is travelling alone as me!I
Very nice hostel in a decent location. Only about 10-15 minutes walk away from khoasan road. Beds are very comfortable and rooms are clean. The staff are amazingly friendly and very helpful. They know your name from when you check in and greet you every time you walk through the doors. I would recommend highly and will definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Bangkok. *****
Good hosteled located in a good place in the old city. Easy access to Khao San road and the Palace and reclining Buddha. Nice staff and a great coffee shop atmosphere. Comfortable rooms with nice showers.
Very good location in walking distance to several temples including the grand palace. Staff was very nice and helpful. Overall great hostel! I will come back :)
This is a great place to stay in Bangkok. It's away from the craziness of Khoa San Road but it's only a very quick cab/tuk tuk ride away. Really clean with great staff. Walking distance to the Grand Palace and other sites.
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Niras. It is very sociable due to a lovely coffee shop and common room in the reception where everyone is able to share stories. I was travelling by myself and enjoyed spending time in Bangkok with the people I met. Would definitely stay here again. Very clean, staff great, breakfast was delicious.

Great Hostel!! The location is OK, it's quite calm at night and it's about 15-20 min walk to Khao San Road. Rooms have a/c, very good lockers and there is a great atmosphere in the common room You can even watch a movie! Great staff aswell!! We spend the beginning and the end of our holiday here, would definitly do that again!!
Great place, although the restrooms where a little smelly. But this is just a minor thing as it was far away from being severe enough to ruin the experience. Great guests, helpfull and friendly staff.
Great little hostel near enough to the hustle and bustle of the kao san road, but far enough away that it is quiet. Getting there is a little difficult but that is more to the fact that the whole area is out of range of the sky train. Excellent staff that were happy to help us get to where we wanted to go, and to help with our forward travels.
This place is great. Poupe, Blick, and Bo do an awesome job of taking care of their guests. The place is spotless. Good mature atmosphere without all the riffraff. Make sure to ask Blick where the good pharamacy is if you need it, where you go makes a difference. The night guard is the nicest guy, just be sure to greet him with a smile and he's your bud! My only suggestion would be to provide hand towels for the sinks.
Hotel staff are the most helpful. Did not realize how much a good staff can make things easier. They are very knowledgeable about the area and can quickly answer any questions you have on planning your trip. The guard for the entrance at night adds a layer of security, and is something I haven't seen at some of the other hostels. I wish the shower areas were separated from the toilet/sink but that's not uncommon here. Lastly, it would be nice if there was more info about the neighborhood.
The location is only 10-15 minute walk from Khao San Road, and is nearby other points of interest. However, taxis have no idea how to get there. I took a picture of both street signs at the intersection, showed them a map in Thai, and still just one driver was able to find it without any problem. It takes 45 minutes by taxi to the skytrain, so you're better off just taking a boat to Siam BTS. Only 10 baht, 5 minutes, and super easy to do. Ask the front desk about it.
