Very friendly and helpful, lovely and clean - great for the price. An individual Lisbon feel rather than just another anonymous hostel.

Charming room in a great location. If you don't mind climbing stairs, no kitchen and a shared toilet?.... This place is hard to beat. Staff spoke no English, but were very friendly. They let us check in early which was a big bonus. I would recommend for anyone on a budget looking for a nice basic room in a great location.

I had a pleasant stay there. As far as security is concerned: they didn't hand out a key of the front door, one always had to ring the bell even at daytime and they themselves would open. I guess it's extremely secure this way but I didn't find it pleasant. It's also a high fourth floor, some 90 steps and there is not really someone to carry your suitcase up, so not so suitable for people with backproblems and the like.

I absolutely enjoyed staying at the Pensao Galicia. The location is perfect in every respect, the staff/owners outdo each other with friendliness and helpfulness. The rooms are quaint and a bit oldfashioned, but you have all the facilities you want(especially for the low rates!!) and if you like something unusual you are going to like the personal, homely charm. Please do warn other guests that the 4 floors might be a real challenge for people with a walking problem.
