The staff was rather judgemental, and we had a window into the hallway that made it very loud at night. The breakfast was a little sparse for a "bed and breakfast" - consisted of cold cereal, toast, and some pineapple slices. The kitchen facilities also left something to be desired.
You don't often come across a hostel shower that's only TOO hot! Which literally was a bit of a pain. Could probably do with more bathrooms but when I was there was no problem as quite quiet. Also stayed at Hostel Pangea, which has much more atmosphere, but don't expect to get to sleep there until midnight at the earliest - here was nice and quiet which is what I needed.
Just a little walk to Avenida Central, the "center" of San Jose with lots of shops. Near National Museum. Staff helpful. Hot water kind of finicky, have to turn the water to medium then turn it down low for the heater to heat the water. Private room felt somewhat cozy in a city with not much to do.
