We loved this place and even stayed additional night there, against our plans. Very good hub to explore the amazing bay of islands.

very spacious common areas, lots of movie DVDs to choose from. however there are no lockers to lock your bag in.

Super friendly and clean. Loved the free use of bikes and kayaks, shame it was too wet to use them though. All facilities were spotless, the kitchen well equipped and the bed probably the most comfortable bunk bed in my whole 3 month trip!

Great place, better than the chain hostels as it had a friendly, homely feel to the place. Glad we picked a place different to the options offered in the Magic bus booklet!

Good hostel, nice and clean facilities but would be better with separate bathrooms for male and female, and there is free wifi at Paihias small library, very nice.

The owner of the Peppertree was a friendly entertaining character and the facilities were awesome - great to have free use of DVDs on the rainy days, and free use of kyaks and bikes! also easy walking distance to all activies in Paihia:)
