This hostel was absolutely perfect for us in just about every way. The atmosphere is awesome (thanks mostly to Rob and Rebecca who run the place, and Alex, who is a legend), the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the hot water is plentiful! Really recommend some of the tours they offer, which aren't the standard trips that you find elsewhere, and everything was so good our three days turned into over a week. If ever we;re back in San Cristobal, we'll be staying here.

The hostel itself was really clean and the staff were friendly. The problem was that they were all new and couldnt really help on booking tours etc as they didnt really know much about anything. The tour to Pallenque was average that was highly recommended. The manager Rob went missing for the entire time we were there and really let his staff down.

We had a very nice stay at the Posada. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and the price is unbeatable. The distance to guadalupe ave. is ok to walk. I can very recomend this!

I came to the Posada del Abuelito for 4days, but I stayed almost 10days (and I came back again !) . Warm welcome, beautiful energies, cozy fireplace for chily San Cristobal nights, nice ambiance, all is clean, brightened up with candles and flowers !... You will feel like at home ! And you should definitely go to hear the duck story !

One of our favourite hostels so far in Mexico. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, providing recommendations for local market stalls, coffee shops and restaurants. The managers even took us to their favourite taco place which was awesome. The hostel itself has great showers with 24 hour hot water, fast internet and a cosy relaxed social area with a fireplace to keep warm during the cold winter nights. Have and will continue to recommend this hostel to fellow travellers.

Lovely hostel with a nice courtyard. The location is very good, only 5 minutes to the pedestrian zone. Our room (private ensuite) was pretty, very clean and with plenty of hot water. Free breakfast and WiFi available. It's a nice place to meet people and the owners (Rob and Rebecca) are lovely and very helpful. We enjoyed our stay very much and can recommend it!! Thank you!

The couple running this place have some kind of issues between themselves and managed to make our stay here pretty weird with strange fighting/crying situations happening audibly and in open view to every one staying at the hostel. Strange energy for sure. Godd fast internet and bagels for breakfast though!

Hi Thank you for your feedback, however we are very confused by your review. We did not realize that you did not enjoy your time here, especially since you extended your stay considerably and referred friends to us who came to stay for an entire week (thank you for that by the way!) You and your friends even booked a few tours with us (and actually slept through one of them, we rescheduled it for you AND picked up the cost of the missed tour). So glad you enjoyed our fast internet and bagels and we hope that you enjoyed the rest of your vacation here in Mexico. Rebecca and Robb :)

Hosts were very welcoming and helpful. The hostel, with it's central courtyard, created a relaxing and friendly atmosphere and was clean, secure and perfectly located a few minutes walk from the central square. This was by far the best place that I stayed during my two weeks travelling across Mexico, and I only wish I had been able to stay a few more nights.

We received a warm welcome from Rebecca as soon as we arrived. She couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating, especially since we were traveling with 2 young children. Great energy and a lot of character. We were impressed with how clean it was too. I liked it so much that I stayed for an additional 2 nights.
