Best in San Cristobal. Delicious breakfast. Best staff ever. This is a really good place.
Our private room was right on the courtyard which meant an early start with breakfast every day. Breakfast was shown as included but it was a cook your own egg at the same time as everyone else in a small kitchen. Laundry was pay to use a machine and do it yourself. The shower was good, the room was fine, just didn´t seem to be quite what was billed.
Stayed in the private room shared bathroom and would not recommend this hostel. After 2 nights I left. Walls are paper thin. Private rooms surround very small outdoor common area. You hear every conversation & wake up every time bathroom is used. They charge 40 pesos for laundry & you clean it yourself? Breakfast inc but u make it yourself I.e u get given 2 eggs and you cook it-chaos in the morning as kitchen is tiny. No safe /locker in room. Hostel doe not have a good vibe and not social.
It's much too noisy in this hostel. The walls are too thin, that you will hear every word from your neighbours in the other rooms. You even can hear every fart from the toilet. I can suggest this hostel only to people who are very noise resistant. You will not ahve any privacy even if you take a private room. However, the staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is good. Not too far from the center. Far better rooms for nearly the same price can easily be found in San Cristóbal.

We loved it here, really nice place to relax and enjoy the town. The breakfast is great and the living room is comfortable and the sun shines in to the courtyard making it a nice place to chill out. The staff are the friendliest we've come across. The only one minor issue is it can be slightly too intimate at times, the walls are very thin and you can hear conversations outside and the happenings in neighbouring rooms. 9/10.
Unforunately I visited during rainy season lack of light and sun so It was cold and huumid. Should get rid of the well so people can sit in the sun!
Chill-out place to stay in when you're in San-Cristobal. Very tranquile atmosphere. Variety of interesting tours offered. Very helpful staff. Not so close to the center like other hostels, but not so far also... Breakfast can be a bit uncomfortable when there are many guests (kitchen area is quite small), especially since the guests cook/fry eggs themselves. In other hostels this was solved by a staff member making omeletes by request, so maybe it's a good solution for crowded times...
Hostel was good overall. We got a room next to the bathroom which created a little discomfort - not so much about the noise but more about the light coming through glass windows at the top of the separating wall. Breakfast was great.
Lovely little posada, really enjoyed my stay. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, beds are comfy, breakfast is good and all for a very low price!
Marco and simon made my stay there a real experience.Very good welcome, and they answered all my questions and recommanded me a unique tour to a coffee plantation : a real contact with people living there. The hostel is not far from the center, and quiet at night. Very clean. I would come back again. But then I would bring more hot clothes!!!

So many things were right with this hostel: The helpful, interesting and nice staff The corteous guests that were easy to talk to The breakfast!! (home made jam :D) Our beds were made every day and our clothes etc. folded (This was actually ridiculous! Never have I had that awesome of a cleanup in a hostel) Great location (3-5 min to main street?) Cosy and relaxed atmosphere Fireplace with a fire every night We didn't want to leave :) Thanks for the wonderful time!
Lovely hostel, great location and breakfast included but TERRIBLE sleep. In a double private room next to a shared bathroom, our room was lit up every time someone used the bathroom and as ceilings do not meet the roof we could hear everything as well. This extended to the night time activities of other guests which was not pleasant. However, aside from that it was a great hostel!
I had a great time at the hostel, the staff were very helpful and answered all the questions I had an recommended a lot of great activities to do during the day! I loved my time there, I felt almost at home!
Posada del Abuelito is a great hub for travelers and a very convenient & pleasant base to start exploring San Crostobal and around. The staff is very friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable, the place is really cute, cozy and nicely decorated, the breakfast (included) is excellent!
Great little hostel in a good position in town. Friendly and helpful staff, nice breakfast with freshly made jam in the morning. Quiet and peaceful. No real communal area so not the best place to meet people but a great hostel apart from that!
It was one of the best part of our stay!.. The staff was excellent!!! and the hostel was beautiful and clean!

Wonderful, beautiful place! The staff is really great, the atmosphere is lovely, mornings are great to talk to other guests during breakfast. The rooms are comfy, the patios are pretty, the included breakfast is yummy (they have this delicious home made jam). You can keep your stuff in the fridge and cook meals in the kitchen. There's also a warm fireplace and some very interesting and very exclusive tours. My only complain would be that the showers floor wasn't always very clean.
Very cozy place with a wood fire and yummy breakfasts. Beds comfy and warm, showers nice & hot (as it was really cold in San Cris), and good information for tours.
