+++ Brand new facilities, very nice staff and convenient location for exploring the city. Negatives: very small size of rooms and bathrooms (8 bed dorm in my case), noise from street and nearby trains, locker does not really work

The hotel was good, is close to train station, supermarket, etc The only problem was that no one at the hotel speaks spanish.

I've stayed at a lot of hostels. As an American I hate that the few American hostels I've been to are rarely as good as Europe's but its true. My main complaint is that the Q4 was boring and the staff seemed uninterested in its guests. They weren't mean or unfair, but we had to press them for help sometimes. Still, I didn't hate it. It's hard to stay cheap in NYC, and this place was clean, safe, convenient, and within budget. IMO: Q4 a maybe for singles - Couples should couch surf or try airbnb.

Noisy at night. Generally ok. Charging $3 for 30min internet and $5 to store a backpack is a rip off. And why hold sleeping bags...bugs?...please, this is 2013.

This hostel is awesome! Stayed in the private room with ensuite for 2 nights and although the bathroom was small it was perfect to come back from the city and relax. Loved the lounge abd kitchen downstairs! Had everything you needed to cook and relax! I even enjoyed hearing the train outside.

This place was really great, the beds were super comfy even though they had anti bed bug sheeting, there is a free pool and table tennis table. Really relaxed atmosphere, would definitely stay there again next time I am in New York

Wow! Nice place to rest. Minutes (1-less 2 blocks) from all MTA routes and neighborhood eateries.

My stay at Q4 hostel was really great. If it were to mention a flaw, there is only one: it was too short! :)

Hadn’t stayed at a hostel in a long time. Q4 was a great place to land: only a block from a major subway line to Manhattan (which is then only 5 minutes away); staff 27/7 who were friendly; great policy of no sleeping bags in rooms to prevent bedbugs; the place was meticulously clean; it was quiet... "living room" and kitchen hang out rooms were welcoming and easy but didn’t disturb sleeping rooms; beds surprisingly comfy; neighborhood isn’t “fun” but was safe, and only minutes to Manhattan.

Very nice place. clean, great value if you need to stay in New York. My job gives me $80 a day to travel. If it weren't for this place I most likely would have been commutting 80 miles 1 way per day.

Very nice hostel: excellent location (close to Manhattan and very convenient) and clean rooms! With only one big problem: train is too close and rooms, then, pretty noisy.

The hostel was pretty good. The subway to Manhattan is very close! The hostel is very clean and new. I loved the basement lounge, even though I would've loved to see some general herbs, oil and butter in the kitchen that anyone can use. There is no breakfast, which is a shame. The rooms are pretty good. Our shower had a mat-transparent door which is kinda odd. Even if you can't really see through it, you still see body shapes. The toilet is rather small. But I had an amazing time in NY!

It is generally a nice hostel that you can find in New York, but not a really true hostel that provide you wide opportunities to make friends, cause it is not designed in that way. Staff are nice and rooms are clean, it has a good location since it is close to subway station. It is very good if you are not very sensitive to noises beside subway... to conclude, it feels more like a hotel rather than a hostel.

I definitly had a good time here, rooms are cleaned every day. Just that there is no soap inside the rooms bathroom I can't understand - I just bought some for $2 from a grocery store. However the Restrooms downstairs in the common room do have soap dispensers. I met a lot of interesting people and made friends with a couple of them. Room can be loud due to the closeby elevated subway station wich ensures quick end easy connection to manhattan.
