HI New York City’s modern amenities include two floors of common room space for lounging and socializing, a huge kitchen for guest use, free Wi-Fi, and the largest private greenspace in Manhattan so our guests can relax outdoors. We offer beautifully renovated bathrooms and showers with free linens and towels. Each guest room has individual heat/air conditioning controls, and shared dorm room bunks are equipped with privacy screens, privacy curtains, charging ports, and individual reading lights, with individual lockers for each guest's belongings (remember to bring your own lock, or purchase one at the front desk). ADA rooms are accessible by elevator, and ADA bathrooms include roll-in showers.

Hostelling International New York has been praised by many of our visitors for their sociable atmosphere. Our guests say their staff are "very helpful and welcoming", they have "good communal areas to mingle" in and "they offer a lot of extra activities (tours, trips) which are value-for-money". There's two metro stations within two blocks, connecting directly to the Lincoln Centre, Times Square, Penn Station, Brooklyn and Soho. We like their large sunken patio - a rare space to stretch out in Manhattan.
