All in all a very good hostel. Very kind staff, a good location in the old part of town, nightly specials (e.g. free noodle party, free hamburger party). The only drawback is that unfortunately, you can't drink your own drinks in the common area. We also haven't seen a kitchen, although we weren't looking for it either - if you really want/need want, it might be better to ask the staff beforehand who, by the way, speak English pretty well, at least judging by Chinese standards.

Friendly stuff. Bathroom was little smelly but anything else was nice. Especially loved the rooftop!

I enjoyed my stay at this hostel. I had no hassles and was comfortable. The location is very cool, in an old observatory on top of a hill. Will definitely recommend this place.

Its not in the easiest to get to if you have heavy luggage since you have to go up a huge hill to get there, but this is the only real complaint. The rooftop has an amazing view and the bar there has great deal on beer... all you can drink from the tap for 20 yuan (3 hours)! Some of the staff doesn't speak English very well, but it's not a big problem. Each dorm room has its own shower, which is a plus.

Not the easiest place to find or get to - up a steep hill with steps through a park which wasn't particularly well-lit at night. Tricky with luggage! Staff were friendly & the rooftop bar & view were about the only decent features. Our dorm room was a tight fit for 4 people, damp and pretty filthy. No bathroom facilities on our floor & only one female toilet per the other floors, given the number of dorms, is a bit of a joke. Place needs a good clean! Ok for a short-stay, but wouldn't recommend.

Excellent location in the old observatory with a cool rooftop bar, nice and helpful staff (but they basically don't speak english), bathroom needs update / cleaning... Would stay there again!
