I love how when they are not packed they will give you the dorm room to yourself. The staff was super cool I would chat with them and they were always helpful. I would stay again for sure. It was a bit quit at the time I was there but it can be chill and a good thing. Overall I really enjoyed my stay here.
Very friendly and helpful staff really makes this hostel great. Cozy common area, nice clean kitchen with lots of stuff, clean functional cozy rooms a great value overall. Staff can arrange private onsen at nearby hotel. Yes the city shuts down after nine but there are a few pubs and it's really picturesque so for a day or two it's a great place.

Best hostel I've been to in Japan, nice and new and well fitted out. Great location five minutes walk from the main bus and train station. Place was spacious with great kitchen and comfy lounge, twin room came with ensuite. Bicycle rental for 100yen an hour was a steal and a great way to see the town.
Love the staff here. They made us feel really welcome. They were friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable. The ambiance of the place is good. Other guests were also welcoming. It would be a nice chance to chat and bond with other guests here. We got one deluxe double, double, and twin rooms here. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. This hostel comes highly recommended. Thanks K's House Takayama and to your great staff!
Easy to find (around a three minute walk to the station). Within walking distance of most sights in Takayama. Big beds and dorm had its own (albeit, small) bathroom. Kitchen is full equipped, even has a traditional style dining table. Nice lounge area to meet other guests.
Top hostel. Probably the best beds I've ever had in a dorm - wide, new bedding, super comfy. Hostel in general is super clean, well set up and even has free filter coffee in the morning (nice touch!). Communal area isn't the most conducive to inter-guest cohesion, as it kind of feels like a hotel lobby, but we managed. Could do with a beer vending machine like the K's house in Hiroshima but then again EVERY hostel does!
No ac only heater as its autumn? Had to open the window but fumes from cooking in the kitchen can be smelled in the early evening. In the middle of the night, it was rather noisy although there didn't seem to be many people in town, we woke up startled once by glass shattering and then ambulance sirens. Room size acceptable similar to other hostels but the place is starting to look tired.

Ks house never disappoints. The common areas are nicer than most hotels. Takayama itself was a bit of a let down but the hostel was great. Two thumbs up
Close to the station (5 min walk), and the old town (10 min walk). Four-bed dorms are too small, leaving very little room for the luggage. The lounge downstairs is very well decorated and comfortable, but the place really lacks a bar. Also, the many families staying here make it very quiet and sleepy at night (as most of Takayama).
Very nice hostel, very clean with nice kitchen. We had a private double with bathroom, good sized room with a tv. As good as a hotel. Location is good close to the train station and the old town. Takayama is small with everything walking distance. The hostel also rents bikes for 100 yen an hour.
The place is clean & nice .Staffs are all friendly & very helpful . Special thanks to Ms Suzuki on helping us to a emergency situation. Will definitely to stay here again .
Great communal areas - central to town- offers free umbrellas to borrow on rainy days which came in handy.
Great location, very clean. A pretty big hostel so if your looking for the small friendly vibe I would suggest somewhere else. Great stay though can't complain.
Great location, great staff, very clean and convenient. To recommend

i loved this hostel! The kitchen was clean, there was coffee and tea, a nice, cozy commen room, clean showers and toilets, small room but clean and with a lot of space for baggages.
It's well located, aprox. 10 min walking to the center of the city (which is REALLY small). They rent bikes for less than a dollar for guests, that is really useful. They had this party with the guests than apparently happens once a month and it was so amazing, I had a great time. I'd definitely stay there again.
I was immediately greeted by very friendly staff who showed me around and explained the facilities and really made me feel at home. Everything was clean and I love how there are 2 kitchen sinks and stove areas!
