This was definitely one of the best hostel I've stayed in the last month regarding price/quality ratio. It looks like a very new 3 star hotel, but one of the good ones with character, ambiance and super friendly staff! I admit I was very surprised by the quality, the cleanliness and... everything. Definitely recommended!!!

The friendliest hostel I stayed in whilst in Japan, very very welcoming, the staff were so helpful. One of the staff, Tomoe, helped me make an origami crane, and also cooked us curry! So kind! Our twin room was very spacious, very clean, with an ensuite which was brilliant. Had a decent sized kitchen, lovely seating areas, and the location was excellent, about 2 minutes from the train station! Would definitely stay here again! Thank you!

I liked this hostel very much. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They have a nice, cozy common room (with PCs, a TV and origami paper), a modern kitchen with free tea/coffee and clean dorm rooms with heating. The location is very good, too. It's close to many restaurants and the old town.

This is a great value for money and extremely clean place to stay. It felt like we were staying at a hotel, not a hostel.

Hostel was very new and hence was very clean with excellent facilities. Staff were friendly and happy to help. The nicest hostel ive been to and actually felt like a hotel at times. Recommend to anyone who wishes to visit Takayama.

The heater is not warm at all. Plus, there is no table in the room, which makes using a laptop difficult.

We had a very pleasurable stay. The guesthouse has been done up recently and very nicely designed in Japanese style. Rooms spacious with comfortable large dorm beds (didn't expect that for japan). Lockers in rooms, free WiFi, good atmosphere, good value for money I'd say. Would stay again when visiting Takayama.

K'house Takayama was the best hostel I have stayed in throughout my 3 months in Japan. My girlfriend and I extended our stay there twice. Close to the station and sites, extremely clean, helpful staff , plenty of space in common areas and an amazing kitchen. Couldn't be happier... We will be back :)
