Lovely traditional guest house with huge rooms and lovely baths! About a 30min walk out of town/tourist area but that's precisely why I chose it! A little haven!
Lovely hotel on the outskirts of town. Good location for walking in the hills but a little bit of a walk to the main part of town (30 or so minutes). Lovely old-style hotel with communal baths, comfy Japanese beds and a lovely slow, relaxing vibe. Room was surprisingly large! If you're a lone traveller it may be a little quiet and so I'd suggest staying in town instead.
We had a wonderful stay. The room was large, comfortable and clean. The public bath was a bit small but delightful. We took advantage of the keisiki ryori meal and it was delicious and very filling, a great bargain. The location is very convenient for walking through many of the most charming parts of town. Our experiences with the staff were all positive; they were friendly and spoke enough English to help us as much as we needed. Overall I highly recommend staying here!
