Exceptionally friendly staff, great rooms that were very spacious and in the traditional ryokan style. The man who picked us up from the train station went beyond the call of duty to assist us, including paying for our clothes to be dried when we misunderstood how to use the drier and accidentally wasted one cycle, and dropping our bags off at the station several hours after our checkout for our convenience. Highly recommended.

Really friendly and helpful staff. Very traditional ryokan with large-sized rooms. Location is quite out of town and hard to find restaurants/shops nearby but it's a cute, quiet neighbourhood and the owner puts on free shuttle buses to town in the mornings and pick-up from the station, which are extremely helpful. On the whole a very memorable stay!

Lovely traditional guest house with huge rooms and lovely baths! About a 30min walk out of town/tourist area but that's precisely why I chose it! A little haven!

Lovely hotel on the outskirts of town. Good location for walking in the hills but a little bit of a walk to the main part of town (30 or so minutes). Lovely old-style hotel with communal baths, comfy Japanese beds and a lovely slow, relaxing vibe. Room was surprisingly large! If you're a lone traveller it may be a little quiet and so I'd suggest staying in town instead.
