WE thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Spa Hostel. Great value for money, clean, right near the restaurants and other onsens. Very friendly staff, with a constant pot of good coffee on the go! OWe are a family with 2 young children, and it was nice to have somewhere within our own room to sit and relax after the kids are in bed without having to worry about waking them up. Will most likely stay there again when we come back to Beppu.

The hostel staff were very kind and informative in regards to our super late check-in. The onsen was small but very nice, and the hostel overall was very clean, neat and spacious. Good value for the money spent.

Great hostel with friendly staff, and a very relaxing onsen! No regular shower rooms, though.

They have onsen (hot springs) inside the hostel!!! Couple members of the staff were not very welcoming. Went to 3 Khaosan hostels and this one was the only one that did not offer cooking basics like cooking oil, and were out of coffee. :-(. That's little to complain about, but compared to the other Khaosan's this one is a notch lower.

A very nice hostel with lovely Japanese style rooms, and you get a chance to practice your onsen manners in hostel's own onsen too.

Was a rather nice hostel, the room was very clean and the Onsen in the hostel was nice as well. Personally I do not recommand to go to the toilet there, it could be quite dirty / smelly sometimes (cq sticky floors and toilet, bits and pieces other people have lef from their visit). But overall I enjoyed my stay there in Beppu.

My favorite place in Japan, with a hostel to match! So many thing to do in Beppu, that we only really slept in the room. Didnt even use their onsen as there's sooo soo many in beppu! This hostel is full of backpackers, and we met heaps of awesome ppl from different countries! Somewhere which ill be spending much more time!!

It a nice place to stay in Beppu. It's a typical hostel, with a mix of foreigners and Japanese. Staff is friendly and helpful. The only drawback is the hostel's location: located in an alley it's a bit hard to find. Oh, and they have an onsen (hot public bath) of their own!

Very nice hostel, free onsen right in the hostel is sooo awesome. Free drink at the bar is also awesome. Friendly staff etc Only negative that i can think of is that it feels a little worn down(but not much).

Great stay - staff were amazing and had organised an onsen reservation for us nearby within ten minutes of us checking in!! Our room was huge and had a little sort of balcony, amazing value. Location was good, and we got a really helpful map with good places to eat etc on check in. The kitchen could do with an update, and as almost everyone has mentioned there was no hot water in the showers which is annoying when you've paid for an en suite, but overall would definitely recommend

Lovely hotel with great staff. The shower in our room didn't work and the staff handled that very adequately and friendly. The in-house onsen is great. This hostel is basic but has everything you need. Very good value for money.

There's are two small onsens inside. Other than that, this place is just ok. If you're a smoker, there's only one place where you can smoke in/near the building. If you're gonna go onsen-hopping in Beppu anyway, Beppu Guesthouse might be a better option. It's cleaner and has more lounge space.

Really nice hostel. Stayed in a two bed private that was a lot bigger than any of the other ones I've stayed in Japan. Room was clean, staff were helpful, location was great. Only issue was that there was only one shower on our floor and it was still cool after running the water for 5 mins. However, we were happy to use the onsen on the ground floor instead. Thanks Spa Khaosan Beppu!
