I just came back from my vacation, it was awsome! I spend 11 days at Samesun hostel in Venice beach, i ve met a really nice roommates there and i hope that we will keep in touch. This hostel is may be the only one which is so close to the beach, facing the ocean. If you go surfing just grab your surfboard and go its 3 min, surf, bicycle and skateboard rent is at the next door with 10% discount for those who stay in Samesun. Also there is a nice bar with good sandwiches and live music downstair

Very good location, big, clean rooms and VERY friendly and helpful stuff (especially Ricky!). The hostel is located in Venice beach so it's easy to go around. You can also take the bus. There's no breakfast and the kitchen is kind of small, but they also have big common room, where you can hang out with others. I suggest this hostel to everyone!

Good stay here, the place is clean, you can't have a better location an Aby (or Amy) and Chris are awesome! Thank you guys for your cheerfulness ;-) It's a pity there is no breakfast and no lockers.

The perfect location makes up for a slight lack of atmosphere. There are only 2 bathrooms/wc on every floor...

i've been going to this hostel for years now, back in the days when it was called venice beach cotel , but i have to say since then it only got better now, it's even more cleaner then before , service is awesome as usual and they have free wifi which they didn't have before . So , If you wanna stay in Los Angeles , go to samesun venice beach

The place is really tacky but Its very well located. It's kinda old too. Don't expect a real hostel experience because the atmosphere for interaction with other people just doesn't happend there. It's a good price for a perfect location and a clean room. Nothing more than that. I would advise couples to go some place else.

Nice clean hostel, location is great. Showers were often out of hot water. The hostel really needs a bigger social area. People tended to sit in their rooms too much.

Creepy, noisy! Dirty, 1 shower for the entire floor....... Don't go. I've been in hundreds of hostels around the world and this is one of the worst BY FAR

Very uncomplicated stay and staff were friendly most of the time. Good that outside guests are not allowed in the hostel given the location. full sized lockers for bags in the rooms would be a useful addition especially in dorms.

Staff were super helpful and you cannot beat the location, 30 seconds walk to the beach. Common areas were quite small apart from that this place is great! Highly recommended.

The hostel doesn't have laundry, if you need one you need to take a bus OR walk almost 25 minutes.
