Serenity has amazing location, it's close to everything you need in Barcelona. Their description on the hostelworld site sounds a bit chilly (we're going to charge you for this and this and if you come after that time you'll be charged more, etc) but the staff is very friendly and at least they mention charges up front (except the city tax). If you just need a cheap bed in barcelona serenity is what you need. Good luck to you guys!

Really good location! The hostel was a little hard to find just because it was on a floor of apartments and didn't have a sign or anything. I would most likely stay here again if I came back and was looking for a good place to stay in a fun area.

The hostel is in a great location, just off the bottom of La Rambla and in a less touristy neighbourhood. The hostel itself though is a bit like flying with ryan air - you get your bed but everything else is extra; sheets, late check in, city tax... They didn't even have city maps. When travelling in a group it was fine but I wouldn't want to stay there on my own, we didn't meet anyone else staying at the hostel. But the room was fine and there was a security guard at night.

Serenity Gothic Hostel completely exceeded my expecations. The location was so perfect, walking distance from both La Rambla and the beach. The facilities were clean and there was even a functioning kitchen. Probably the nicest hostel I have ever stayed in!

This hostel was overall great, the location was simplie amazing. If you want a place to sleep and have internet and speek with the staff its the good place. If you are looking for something more, its not the good place. They dont have a lot of facilities like not att all ; but we where okay with this because we did not needed more during are stay. Staff is really helpfull and i dont regret going there, we had fun over all.

Great location! Near the subway, La Rambla and the sea. Great staff also. The room was cold, so we had to use 2 blankets. There is no kitchen, just one small fridge and an eletric kettle. The wifi signal is poor depending on the room you are. The bedroom and the bathroom were a bit dirty, but not a big deal.

the showers and the heating need some more attention for people do go to Spain when its cold

Location is good but it was really difficult to find the hostel. There is not any signal in the main door to let you know where is the place. The building doesn't look like a hostel, it's more kind of residential building. Very Poor atmosphere. Even though the cost per night is cheap, once you get there you will be charged for other stuff that you don't have in mind such as towels, bed sheets, check out late, tourist tax per night and so on. However, the staff was friendly and very helpful.

problably barcelona most characterfull hostel....however it can be cold in february and not so serene at weekends! Will try it in summer as it is perfectly placed for a boat trip or even the airports!

perfect location, and incredibly helpfull staff.. they care about all your request in a very friendly way. the hostel does not overcharge you with it's facilities; no suprises beyond what is written in the description. plus, we left our stuff safely for 2 days without any charge.. overall, very recommendable for budget travellers.

Very cheap and in a good location, but a quite a bit "cutre" as the spaniards would say. You have to rent bed sheets! The room is austere, with a bed and a tv, but not even a little table to put your things. I didn´t even think about visiting the bathrooms. Still though, the price is very good, and between that and the location it´s overall a good deal. Recommendable for those who want to enjoy barcelona and only need the hostel to sleep.
