A brand new guesthouse and youth hostel in Yunnan Shaxi, China - the last remaining ancient market town on the historical Tea & Horse Caravan Trail. Located in an authentic and traditional Bai Minority courtyard, our guesthouse is owned by experienced travelers and professional outdoor guides, created for adventurous travelers just like you. We have dorm rooms, standard double rooms, a family room, and a luxury loft-style suite for travelers of different styles and budgets. We have a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere, English-speaking staff, 24-hr hot water (heated by natural gas), free Wi-Fi Internet access, showers and western-style toilets in all of our double rooms, Chinese and western breakfast, and weekly free guided hiking tours.

Oh my goodness, most importantly, GO to Shaxi! Anyway, the hostel is wonderful. Staff are nice. Great pool table in the courtyard area. Decent bed, huge locker. Perfect location in the town square. As a converted horse stable, it's understandable that the toilets and showers are outside. You can eat dinner with the staff for 20rmb, did it once and it was nice. And they have bikes for rental. Try to time your stay on a Friday to see the awesome, totally non-touristic market.
